Anzio is a non-touristic, quiet port town.
Anzio is a non-touristic, quiet port town. Decent beaches, both free and paid. A good starting point for hydrofoil travel to Ponza Island. From here there are hydrofoils that will take you there in an hour and a half. Other places only use regular cruise ships, but they offer a four-hour journey. There are many good restaurants with local fresh fish and seafood as well as local wines. A place worth staying for shorter and longer periods.

Pleasant surprise!
Pleasant surprise! We learnt that the beaches around Anzio are popular among people from the Rome region, so there are mostly local people. Long, very nice beach with clean water, shallow sea and fine sand.AlesCzech Republic - 10Scored 10

if you want to stay near Rome and have the benefit of a cooler summer atmosphere and a beach holiday this it , far better than staying Ostia or Fiumicino. frequent trains air conditioned and an hours journey rome for targeted visiting.

Very pleasant and helpful staff. Modern room with a good bed and a desk I could work from. There is not good sound insulation between the rooms, which became clear when I had neighbors with two small children who screamed a lot both at night and during the day. If you go along the road to the right, then there will be a supermarket not far away. If you follow the road to the left, then at a distance of 2-3 kilometers there will be seafood restaurants. The beach next to the hotel is very good, the water and sand are clean, there were not many People.
