We loved Guanajuato and would go back sometime. We were only there two nights as a quick stop on our drive home to the US. It's an amazing city with the mining history and tunnels carved in the mountain. The architecture in the historic center is gorgeous, many buildings are from the 1700 and 1800s. We loved climbing the hill to the statue for the view as well as just wandering and exploring. Great range of activities available: art and architecture, museums and music venues and food options (from street food on up) and hiking in the surrounding hills. The views are spectacular. They call it a magic town. I see why. I've been here for 5 days so far & the more time I spend here the more I love it.

It is a beautiful city with lots to explore. It is more historic and lots of walking but we enjoyed. My kids enjoyed it even with it not being a lot of attractions geared towards children. Lots of street vendors and delicious foods.

The people were very friendly. A lot of walking goes on with very little other transportation. There are definitely a huge number of people walking the street that usually come up from the tunnels. The tunnels being the major source of entrance into the city. The parks are usually full of people walking around and in the evenings they have lots of songs and and other activities.

And we really appreciated that there was an on-site restaurant, though it's very expensive! (There are some great places to eat very close to the hotel, which are a better alternative.)
