The location is super central - you can walk everywhere. No need to have a car but if you do there's some parking and although my car was too large for the tiny old streets, I was able to leave it in the local piazza.
I am a solo female traveller and I felt very safe.

What a jewel of a place.
What a jewel of a place. We had wanted to come here for some time. Such magnificent buildings and interesting architecture. Very good and reasonably priced restaurants. We ate at L'Archetto, Cuatro Stagione, Tre Re.

a quaint town that seems to have frozen in time. it is a lovely but slow paced place and the roads are really tiny to the point where driving is large car is not recommended. people are friendly and there are a lot of teen agers and university students. you can find cute shops and lovely dining options. unfortunately, i didn't get to tour the town but i heard that there are interesting places to visit.

It's an historic walled city with lovely tiny streets to wander around. The history of the Etruscans is very interesting.
I found a small trattoria and ate very well for 20 Euro - so I went there the next day.

Viterbo has a very large historic area, quite a lot of which is either pedestrianised or restricted to local traffic. It has a lot of parking areas outside the historic area, and there are elevators from two of them to the edge of the centre. It is not only an interesting place to walk around, but the countryside around is well worth investigating.

We found Viterbo to be an underrated gem of a town.
We found Viterbo to be an underrated gem of a town. It was a university town which meant it provided a youthful population, with lots of eating options and price points. The medieval center of town was amazingly beautiful, and the locals were very friendly. It is easy to access nearby sites from this city, while still being close to Rome. We loved it and while it was not a city we planned to visit, we are so glad we did.
From the wonderful manager who got up at midnight to let our group in into the hotel, helped us park and move our luggage to the beautiful and thoughtfully decorated suites, fabulous bathroom and even a small kitchen, everything exceeded our expectations. This is a rare gem of a boutique hotel so perfectly located in beautiful Viterbo that it is a must stay if in the area. We will definitely return. Every aspect of our stay was delightful especially the superb staff!
This was such a charming little spot to stay for my brief visit to Viterbo. I walked easily from the train station, and my room was very clean and charming. It was a short walk to the beautlful town center, where there are lots of restaurants and shops. The hotel was very peaceful. The air conditioning worked great, which really mattered because I was there during a terrible heat wave--it was in the mid-90s every day and I was cool and comfortable in the room.
There is not a single thing that we did not love about Casa Claudia. It is an amazing vacation property, located in the centre of historic Viterbo. Claudia's care and thoughtfulness in every detail was impressive. We requested a gluten free option for breakfast, and Claudia provided several selections, as well as other delightful breakfast foods. I would rate Casa Claudia as a 100%!
We had a great luck to be among the first guests of this charming small guest house in a renovated ancient house. The owners were extremely friendly, the guesthouse is beautiful and clean, the location is quiet in the middle of old Viterbo (400 m walking through the okd city from the parking lot), and the breakfast was delicious. Warmly recommended!
The owner was very nice and welcoming. Always available, he gave us good information about the city and the services it offers. The apartment is centrally located, very charming and equipped with every service. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Viterbo and its surroundings.
Host made check-in and check-out easy and was able to accomodate the times that worked for us. The property is in the old part of Viterbo, perfect location to walk to all the typical interest points for visitors like us. Public free parking is only 300 meters from the property.
Spa, garden and pools are really good. We had a massage and it was fantastic. The hotel itself is quite old, although they did good renovation inside. Drinks, bar and prices of extra services (bar etc) are quite high considering that it is not 5 stars.
Cozy and brand new rooms in the heart of Viterbo. Super close to the train station porta romana. The host was very helpful and knowledgeable about the town. breakfasts were great, with homemade pastries. Definitely recommend for a couple getaway!
Welcoming spirit and help with luggage, and absolutely a fantastic spot for dinner, highlights of the walled city. AND PARKING -- without having to go outside the walls.
Furnishings and space were interesting, too.
Nice hotel in a good location not far away from the city center. Staff very nice and welcome. The rooms were good and comfortable and the breakfast for Italy was enough and very good. Can recommend stay there.
Though not in the center this hotel really surprised me. Bath was pristine. Good and sunny room with balcony. Management was helpful and efficient. The restaurant/pizzeria in the same block is a bonus plus.
The location is beautiful and perfect to visit Viterbo and around.
The property is really beautiful and the host very kind.
The appartement is well furnished, including the kitchen.
The location in the medieval portion of Viterbo was excellent! We wish we had more than one night to enjoy the area. Stefano and Daniela were excellent hosts!
