This Hotel is in the perfect position just an easy 3-4 minute walk directly opposite the Central station. It is also less than a 10 minute walk from the Ferry terminal where you can take a ferry out to the islands or up the Amalfi Coast. Just outside the front door is the main pedestrian thoroughfare with numerous bars right there and restaurants just a short walk away. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable and quite roomy in comparison to many Italian Hotels. The breakfast was very generous and delicious with a good range of savoury and sweet items. Staff were watching and replenishing items so that guests didn’t have to ask. It was clear that the staff were proud of their hotel and its breakfast offerings. One of the things we liked the most was the greeting we received every time we arrived at or left the hotel. Never once were we not acknowledged. This made us feel valued as their guests. We would definitely choose this hotel again if we return to Salerno and highly recommend it to you.

The location is excellent, with panoramic sea views and large comfortable rooms, some with 2 bathrooms. We were a family group of 11 with 6 rooms and all thecrooms were great.

A beautiful, peaceful city, with a very long center, various restaurants and shops, the sea is nearby, the promenade is very beautiful. There is a train station, it is close to Amalfi and Positano. Several times we did try to use buses - they are not reliable. Many stores do not have prices on the goods and each time the price is different. Locals treat you like a tourist.

Salerno is a nice city, it is a very good location to stay if you are planning to visit the Amalfi Coast by boat or bus, or to visit Pompei by train.
Lots of bar, pasticcerie, ristoranti and shops.
Unfortunately the beaches in town are very dirty, lots of rubbish, pity:(

We used Salerno as our base for day trips to Amalfi towns and Capri. It was an easy train ride down from Rome and we avoided the hassles of transferring off train to bus or ferry with luggage.
We did not get a chance to see Salerno sites. We left each day by ferry to other towns. The ferry rides were a great way to see the beautiful amalfi coastal towns.
Salerno offered plenty of dinner choices. Some parts of town are bright and busy. Some a little gritty and too much graffiti.
Day of departure we rented car and drove to Pompeii then up to Tuscany.

Salerno is a relaxed, peaceful city with excellent restaurants, a lively old town, and great access to other locations. It is much more economical and quieter than staying on the Amalfi Coast and is only a half hour ferry ride away from it.

Lovely big town with an old town, cobbled streets and lots of restaurants and bars. There is a large area of restricted traffic and parking is horrendous, even though it was April every single space along the streets and public car parks were taken. Luckily our apartment owner suggested she book us a space in a private garage and although it cost €25 per night it was well worth it. The port was within walking distance and we took a ferry to Amalfi Coast. Don’t even think about driving along the Amalfi coast as the traffic was horrendous and absolutely nowhere to park. A very busy over crowded coastline.

Lovely Lungomare with views of the mountains of the Sorrento...
Lovely Lungomare with views of the mountains of the Sorrento penisular. Railway station (from where you can travel to Pompeii, Herculaneum, Paestum, Naples and many other places - local and further afield e.g. Rome or further south). Many buses operating all over the Salerno area and Amalfi Coast. Ferry terminal for travelling to Amalfi Coast towns and Capri.
Old Town with narrow streets thronging with shops, places to eat and drink. The Duomo with its magnificent Crypt, Villa Comunale park with the turtles, Castle Arrechi - a steep climb but a great castle and fabulous views.
Not a place for a beach holiday but I'd definitely recommend Salerno for exploring the Amalfi coast, Naples, Pompeii and the surrounding area without breaking the bank!
From the moment we arrived in Salerno it was wonderful - we were met by the property owner, Dario. Kind, sweet gentleman who walked us to the apartment. The apartment has absolutely everything you'll need for your stay - Dario left juice, water, liquor sweets etc to assist with settling in. It is spacious, clean, comfortable and located close to groceries, restaurants, ferries etc The apartment is also located in a very secure building. stayed 3 nights and could have stayed longer. Thank you Dario for your hospitality 🙏
We had the London room. Absolutely beautiful inside. Little balcony as well. The Mattress was some sort of memory foam and incredibly comfortable to sleep on. The host even left us a bottle of champagne and rose petals for our honeymoon. She then greeted us in the common area the next morning during breakfast. Super sweet lady in one of my favorite and underrated towns in Italy. Few minutes walk from the ferry terminal or the train station. Would absolutely stay here again.
Spacious apartment, wonderful host, best time in February to visit Amalfi coast, Pompei, etc. Residential environment, within 10 minutes walk to Salerno centro, comfortabel bed, lot of restaurants nearby. Just ask Carmen to get all information you need. Extraordinary sweet ialien breakfast.
Equipment of the kitchen is low standard. But it is not important except you want to prepare dinner. There a lot of good pizzerie, trattorie or ristorante nearby.
If you want to stay in the heart of Salerno this place is for you , Near train station so you are always able to go and went back on time. President apartment has a lovely balcony and very good isolation if you wantr sleep in middle of day. The host lady Amelia was more than a polite, she was always there if you need something . It was very nice to stay here . You have and great breakfast with true Italian cofee . I can say only positive words.
We go to Salerno at least a couple times of year when visiting with my cousins who live in a nearby town. We have often admired THE CRESCENT since it opened last year and decided we'd stay there on our next trip. When we found a site on Booking we decided to try it. I spent 4 years rating hotels and restaurants so perhaps, while my review might be very critical, it is accurate. Know the facts before deciding to book.
Best place I stayed during my visit. Hosts were lovely and helpful.
Room was with hotel quality but airbnb flexibility. It had kitchen corner with all facilities, large table and tea set. On balcony was possibility to dry laundry which was really needed at that point. TV enabled to connect to Netflix and other platforms.
Massimo gave excellent Salerno tips, and even voucher for beach bar which was also great place.
The location is great within Salerno, close to the main pedestrian road and the Lungomare, but on a quite little street. The room had view at the Roman Aqueduct. The staff was nice and helped us, though they didn't speak good english. Breakfast was italian: coffee and a sweet pastry product, but the quality was good.
The only thing is the soundproof typical in most Italy; a pair of earplugs will solve it.
The careful attention that is given to each and every detail so that your stay is wonderful. Gianpiero, the owner, is a genuine sweetheart who is always available for sharing a good advice/ important information.
Tip: if you wish to arrive straight into the parking the address is: via Lungomare Colonbo 111, Salerno - the photo is what you find on the sighnpost.
The hotel is located in a pedestrian street in the center of Salerno, a 10-minute walk from the train station, 10 minutes from the cathedral and 5 minutes from the coast. Lot of shops around.
I had a room with a terrace and there was a kettle with tea and coffee. The room was clean and tidy.
There is a bidet in the bathroom.
The breakfast was good.
There’s nothing not to like about this sweet, simple hotel. In fact, I decided to stay an extra night.
A short walk to the beach, to the train, and from the bus that took me to Salerno.
Clean, comfortable, and with a balcony and private bathroom.
The breakfast at the bar downstairs was very nice.
Ivan and Rosaria were the perfect hosts. They went over the top to make sure we had an amazing stay. The room was comfortable, clean and the food was amazing. We will definitely be going back. This was one of our longest stays in Italy and when we left I felt like we had made great friends.
A quaint hotel in Salerno. The rooms transport you away from the maddening crowds. The air conditioning was a welcome relief after a day out in the hot Italy sun. I was very welcomed by Massimo and the breakfast bar not far were also friendly and welcoming. I would recommend staying here.
Comfortable, clean and well equipped room. Perfect location for exploring Salerno centro storico, pedestrian street for shopping and restaurants, and the lungomare. Attentive staff (Marianna was always available if we needed something). Petramare is a also a great value.
The location is perfect for bus, train or ferry stop or for exploring salerno. The access to the room/hotel wasvery confortable because it doesn't require you to take a key around. The hosts are very forthcoming and write back immediatelly if questions arise.
These suites are so unique! The place is the residence of minister of south Italy kingdom back in 18th century. It is well preserved and managed by amazing host Alexis. The wallpaper, closets, furnitures and of course gorgeous ceilings all speak of history.
The hotel is close to Salerno station and was easy to find. Our room was really clean and comfortable with a terrace and furnished in a modern style. The facilities were in great condition and it was nice to have a smart TV in the room.
Very nicely located at Salerno`s main broadwalk, near the train station, ferry stations and old city center, restaurants and stores. Good breakfast and spacious room/bathroom size. Wifi is stable and available everywhere in the hotel.
The Plaza Hotel is right across the square from the train station. We were only there one night but I wish we'd scheduled more time Salerno. We were able to walk to everything we planned to see.
