I recently had the pleasure of staying at Lodge Dinorwig, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Sonni’s communication following the booking was excellent, and she was extremely accommodating when I asked to check in early.
The location is wonderful, and the lodge itself is amazing, full of character and history. The evening meal was perfect, and the packed lunch was both fantastic and very reasonably priced.
Although I had to leave early and couldn't enjoy a cooked breakfast, Sonni kindly arranged an alternative for me. I would definitely recommend this lodge and will most certainly be visiting again!

Lovely little village and perfect vacation for anyone...
Lovely little village and perfect vacation for anyone wanting to visit Snowdon. You can walk stringent up it or get a bus to Pen-y-Pass and go up via the routes there. Plenty of restaurant, cafes and bars to keep you entertained - our favourite was Becws Melyn which served gorgeous food and delicious drinks!

A very historic village, with lots to learn about but with the option of modern activities! Take a leisurely journey on 1 of their 2 heritage railways. Visit their slate quarry museum on its original site. Admire the views from the castle or go cruising on Padarn Lake. Or just enjoy walking around the village.

In my opinion, Llanberis is an amazing place to stay.
In my opinion, Llanberis is an amazing place to stay. The town has all you can need without being a snobby destination.
It's the perfect gateway for walking snowdon or taking the tram to the top.
I'm afraid I can't comment on local restaurants as I've only ever used the chip shop, but that is superb so I would assume other places are just as good.
Would make an amazing stop off for those wanting to explore more of the beautiful national park.

If you like nature and walking, this is the place for you.
If you like nature and walking, this is the place for you. Stunning and we particularly liked the walks around the Llanberis lake and up to the waterfall. There are some shops in the village but it is not that well equipped for proper food shopping. However, we arranged a food delivery from Asda which arrived promptly.

Llanberis is ideally located for the easiest walk or train...
Llanberis is ideally located for the easiest walk or train up Snowdon, our main reason to stay here. Many other more difficult walking options are a short car or bus journey away, be warned the popular car parks fill up very early in the day and some like Pen-Y-Pas must be prebooked and are very expensive. A few miles further away there are an almost infinite list of other walking routes that will be much less crowded. Be warned that none of the routes up Snowdon are easy, you should be fit and prepared for cold wet and foggy weather, any time of the year. Llanberis has a few shops, pubs, cafes and restauraunts although when we stayed in late March many were closed, I guess the season starts after Easter.

Llanberis is the ideal location to start your trip up to...
Llanberis is the ideal location to start your trip up to Llanberis path to Snowdon. We were also able to walk to the Slate Museum & Dolbadarn Castle. If you want to get the train to the top of Snowdon, the station is located in a visible easy to reach location, with a car park about 1 minute walk away. Also, just off the high street we found a beautiful waterfall named Rhaeadr.
This was our first ever trip to climb/treck a mountain. We wanted somewhere close to the start, well you don't get much better than this if you're going up the llanberis path. The room was recently refurbished, modern, comfortable and immaculately clean. THE BEST BIT WAS THE BED. They have memory foam mattresses that I am normally dubious about, but it was PERFECT. Everything was where it should be, we needed nothing more for our stay. The big chains could learn a lot from these guys! Well done Alpine Lodge.
Very nice house, room was clean and comfortable with nice view to the lake and mountains. Great location and easy to walk to the surrounding areas and take the bus to start the hiking to Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales. Breakfast was excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful to provide all the orientation and information about the best paths for hiking.
I strongly recommend this place to everybody!!!
Breakfast was very nice, we also had 2 evening meals in the bar. Saturday evening was very busy but the staff were very efficient courteous and helpful. The room was comfortable. The hotel has a few creaky floor boards but is to be expected in a traditional hotel of this age. Great location for the trains and Llanberis path for Mount Snowdon.
The breakfast and the atmosphere were brilliant. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Really can’t recommend highly enough if you are looking for a few days in the heart of Snowdonia, I managed to walk out of the hotel and into the mountains in about 10m and was out all day, arriving back through the quaint little town of Llanberis
Lovely hostel. Double room for what we paid was excellent. Great shower too. Pizza and a pint deal fantastic. We booked the continental breakfast for 5 pound. Excellent value, the coffee, and Im coffee fussy was the best. Great location, 10 min drive from pen y pass car park for Snowdon. 2 mins to Lanberris. Def recommend this hostel.
The look is deceiving. Looks a little like a large house. It's very homely. The staff are very welcoming and informative. The breakfast is amazing as is the homemade pizza. We would definitely book this hotel again for our next walk up Snowdon or any North Wales visit. Cannot praise the place high enough.
Very clean and lovely little place. We have never been to llanberis and we came to hike snowdonia. Our host Holly welcomed us and told us about the area.
Couldn’t fault it. Amazing place if you are looking for a cozy welcoming stay in llanberis.
We will be back :)
Thank you
Ceris was friendly and accommodating and I very much enjoyed my time in Wales. Only a short walk from the high street, Lake and Snowdon paths. The house is nice and quiet which made sleeping easy. I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the Llanberis area.
Oh how lovely this was! Super central location, near the lake and the Llanberis Path. Near shops and pubs. All you need. Great room with great bathroom. Clean and comfortable. Already booked my next stay with them for when I go to Snowdonia!
Simple, Cheap & Well Equipped. We just needed a bed for the night and it worked perfectly for that.
Mattress was comfy and the place felt secure. Toilets and showers were clean. Check in and out was super simple.
Brilliant location for a solo traveller with having the pub/restaurant downstairs.
Room was clean with ensuite.
Friendly staff.
Good location within Llanberis.
Good base to explore Snowdonia (Eryri).
In the heart of Llanberis, a cozy place to stay and explore Snowdonia with family and dogs. Has everything you need and Becky was a super host. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
The house is extremely well presented and was perfect for our trip to Llanberis and the surrounding area. Everything we needed was provided and made for a very comfortable and relaxing stay.
Friendly staff. Room was clean. Close to Snowdon Railway station. Left our car at the front the next day so we didn't have to pay parking at the railway as it was close enough to walk.
the location of the property was great, 10 min away from the pyg route to Snowdon. The hosts were wonderfully welcoming. The breakfast was delicious. The room was big/bright and clean.
The location at the foot of Snowdon is excellent and the hotel whilst a little dated did its best to provide good service and good food, this they did.
