Adored he location, perfect still warm weather and the views. Scorching toasty sun on my back from the bacbackers deck. Loved my little room tucked under the eaves and the little Rock retaining wall (am an architect these things affect me). The alpine trail alongside skotel stunning. That day I was up there with the Gods! Liked talking with other guests. In short I absolutely lucked out staying one night there and can t wait to return.

The Ruapehu Park Hotel is at the foot of a large ski field and volcano at Mt Ruapehu. It is surrounded by two other famous mountains Ngauruhoe and Tongariro. We really loved the family rooms - they were warm despite the cold temperatures. The hot water systems (i.e. the showers) were excellent. Finding the hotel and accessing the car park was also very easy. The restaurant (the spiral) also served very high quality food. The cost of the rooms was outstanding value for money.

You can play darts at this 3-star hotel. Nostalgic stay in an well renovated post office. They still have the old hooks for coats on the wall, lovely. The host Malyar was very helpful and friendly and really made us feel at home. Loved the windmill just across the street.
