This is a traditional Japanese ryokan with public baths (gender separated). Dinner and breakfast are amazing and plentiful, with locally sourced organic produce (even coffee!). Our room (Japanese room with private toilet) was to the left of the entrance. It was very spacious. The heater worked very well as autumn night was a bit damp and cold. The beds are futons on wood bed frames on tatami, and they are super comfortable. As I have a whole-leg tattoo which is usually not permitted in the public baths, I notified Ranko in advance, and she reserved the private bath for us. The private bath was a very beautiful blue ceramic bath filled with warm (I don’t think it’s very hot) healing hot spring water from the area. Ranko’s warm personality really made the stay memorable. Be sure to ask her for recommendations of the areas. She is a well of knowledge of the area!

A bookable shuttle service is in place and works very well, allowing us to leave and arrive from Aizu Wakamatsu station. We also reserved the outdoor bath for private use: incredible! The staff is adorable and helpful: thank you very much!

It offers free Wi-Fi throughout the propert and free parking is on-site. This is a Japanese traditional hotel. The hosts are very friendly and try to help all the time. Although it is sometimes not easy to communicate in English, but they tried their best to understand us and also express themselves. Actually with Google Translator there is no communication issues anymore. My room is the one with private bathroom but still I can use the big bath outside the room, which is very comfortable. The dinner and breakfast are wonderful!! I would be very happy to stay here next time if I visit this city again.

I'm really grateful for her help and concern. she also gave us ticket to the public onsen. 😍 thank you so much, we had a wonderful time.
