I’m so glad we stayed at Mr. Michiku’s hostel. Michiku, our host, is the best. He picked me and my son up at 7/11 close to the station and dropped us back at the station the following day. He was very accommodating and helpful. He tend to our needs even for a short stay. The hostel itself is lovely. The interior is a mix of traditional Japanese and modern. We had a warm, comfortable and restful stay. We spent the night in a beautiful tatami room with absolutely amazing view of Mt. Fuji. I will definitely stay here again. It is quite far from the town center but I didn’t mind and loved walking around the Lake Kawaguchiko.

All units are equipped with a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a fridge, electric kettle, a high-tech toilet, free toiletries and a desk. The rooms include air conditioning, and some units at the economy hotel have a balcony. Each room features an armchair with a footrest. Private bathrooms feature a hairdryer, toothbrushes and free toiletries. The stuff is super friendly and helpful, the hotel has amazing location with really cute restaurants just nearby.

Kaname Inn Tatemachi is set in Kanazawa, 800 metres from Kenrokuen Garden and 1.1 km from Kanazawa Castle. Omicho Market is 1.5 km away, while the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa is only 350 metres from the property. Free WiFi access is offered throughout the entire property, and staff are on site 24-hours a day to assist guests during their stay. After Tokyo, I was glad of the spacious room I received. One of the staff members spoke immaculate English. There was a really cool bar next to the lobby. The location is good, the bus line is a few minutes walk away.

Kagelow Mt.Fuji Hostel Kawaguchiko has been newly renovated in September 2015. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar.

There are shared bathrooms on the ground floor, and Mt. Fuji is visible on sunny days from several rooms. A TV is provided in the Queen Room. I was impressed with how nice the hostel facility is. The in-house restaurant was also a huge bonus. They allowed me to store my bags in the back private room. Minori is an excellent and capable staff member, also! :)

Right on the shore of the scenic Kawaguchiko Lake, Hotel New Century boasts spacious Japanese-style rooms overlooking the lake and Mount Fuji. It features spacious hot spring baths with spectacular nature views, a video games corner and a souvenir shop. Free Wi-Fi is available in the public areas. The hotel was wonderful from the very first moment. We arrived by car and found organized parking right in front of the hotel. The staff warmly welcomed us, took photos of us with the cherry blossoms and Mount Fuji, and then handled our luggage. Check-in was very clear and detailed, and our room had a stunning view of the lake and Fuji — absolutely beautiful! The location was excellent, and the traditional Japanese breakfast was both delicious and a memorable experience. We truly enjoyed our stay and even felt a bit sad that we didn’t have an extra day there. Highly recommended!

Free WiFi available throughout the hotel and free on-site parking is available. Free pick-up service is available from Kawaguchiko Station upon request. Very friendly staff. Excellent onsen and Kaiseki meal experience in a cozy boutique hotel. Kids enjoy our stay very much.

Just 250 metres from Zenko-ji Temple, Matsuya Ryokan offers simple Japanese rooms with tatami-mat floors, a green-tea maker and an attached Western bathroom. The hotel features public baths.

Guests at Jizokan Matsuya Ryokan stay in rooms with shoji paper screens and traditional futon bedding. All rooms are air-conditioned and include a TV and slippers. An absolutely wonderful place to stay to experience a traditional Japanese Ryokan. The breakfasts were varied each day and beautifully presented. The fact that the Ryokan is located at the start of the Zenkoji temple complex made it even better. It was only 3km from the train station so okay walking without bags. The advantage is because of its position you could walk just a few meters to pick up a taxi to the station which only cost 1200Y.

Set in Matsukawa, 24 km from The Japan Ukiyo-e Museum, ワールドカリーの館　すぱいすろーど offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. With a restaurant, the 3-star inn has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. Guests can make use of a bar. The staff was lovely, we had dinner at the restaurant there- indian style, and it was delicious! The owner made everything to order and we had a great time. Atsu was so nice and welcoming! Relatively close to Matsumoto and Nagano, but great if you look for a peaceful and quiet location
