We decided to end up our honeymoon spontaneously at the beach, so we were looking for a nice place in the surrounding of the airport, which is at the beachside and not a big hotel. And so Ahu Bay was definitely the right choice. It is a wonderful, modern and small hotel with delicious food and an almost private beach (at least in off season). The staff was super friendly and very attentive. Our room was big and we had the best rain shower we have ever had. And on top of that we had the perfect view over the ocean. Ahu Bay wants to save turtles. So there were baby turtles hatching out exactly when we were staying there. And in the evening hours they enabled us to let one of those one day old baby turtles go into the big ocean. That was an incredible feeling and you could see that also every single Ahu Bay employee was happy to watch that and maybe our baby turtle is the one out of thousand baby turtles that in 25 years will come back to this beach and will but their eggs on this beach.

The breakfast offers buffet, continental or American options. At the resort you will find a restaurant serving Mediterranean, Asian and international cuisine. Vegetarian, halal and vegan options can also be requested. Best hotel I have stayed in sri lanka to date. If you have a family, especially a toddler which is always a hassle to travel with, I would highly recommend this hotel. Service was impeccable and rooms, especially the sea view rooms where we stayed was amazing. I am also impressed with the sustainability initiatives I saw, very little plastic and solar panels. Included fresh fruit platter, fresh juice, tea and coffee with eggs prepared as per request. Very boutique property, tastefully done, spacious rooms, clean. The decor with lights really changes the mood in the restaurant and pool in the evening. Friendly owners and competent team, equally friendly pooches :)

The family that runs the hotel are so friendly and helpful. The food options were fair enough.

We had an absolutely outstanding stay at Channa Villa Bentota, and I can wholeheartedly recommend this guesthouse to anyone visiting Sri Lanka. Having known Channa for over 10 years and having visited Sri Lanka six times since 1995, I can confidently say that this was one of the best experiences we've had in the country. From the very beginning, the service was impeccable. We were picked up from the airport and returned there at the end of our stay, just as we requested. The transportation was punctual, comfortable, and handled with great professionalism, which made our arrival and departure seamless and stress-free. The guesthouse itself is located just about 200 meters from the beautiful Bentota Beach, it offers easy access to the sea, and the rooms are well-equipped with both a fan and air conditioning, ensuring comfort regardless of the weather. The rooms are clean, cozy, and tastefully decorated, creating a relaxing atmosphere that made us feel right at home. During our stay, we also had the pleasure of being accompanied by Channa on several excursions. He guided us on a memorable tour to Nuwara Eliya, enriching the experience with his extensive knowledge of the region and its culture. His insights made the trip much more meaningful and enjoyable. We also visited the impressive Buduruvagalla Temple, which was a highlight of our trip, made even more special by Channa’s friendly and informative guidance. Additionally, we enjoyed a wonderful boat tour on the Bentota River, where we could relax and take in the stunning natural scenery and peaceful surroundings. Channa’s personal involvement and care truly made these experiences stand out. Beyond the tours, we had the pleasure of dining at the guesthouse, on invitation from Channa. The dinner was excellent—delicious, beautifully prepared, and served in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I intendetd to write some more, but the place in booking is too short.

We loved the gardens and pool! The food was one of the best that we had in Sri Lanka! And above all the staff were so helpful and couldn’t do enough for us, we thank them very much.
