Kumu Beach is like being in paradise. Your eyes just won't get enough. The way the hotel is designed, combined with that stunning beach, rocks, and the pool are just incredible The staff is incredibly kind, from extra requests - such as breakfast on the go - to the chef coming to your table with dinner. The other guests were also very respectful and relax. This has been our favorite place in Sri Lanka.

This hotel is a pure sweet spot: a combination beautiful sandy beach with nice ocean view through palm trees, excellent and well-trained staff, huge variety of very tasty food, comfortable rooms and excellent management with focus on sustainability. We booked a room with breakfast and intended to dine outside, however upon our arrival a hotel manager Mr Fernando warmly welcomed us and recommended to try dinner buffet... And we did - the best experience (both breakfast and dinner) comparing 5 hotels in Sri-Lanka we visited during our 3 weeks vacation. Additional compliment to the way the hotel is managed - exceptional level of service, safety, sustainability and attention to the guests needs. I can't put in a review all the things we're positevely surprised with this hotel - it far exceeded our expectations, definitely recommend to stay here!

I stayed there for my first 2 nights and it was the best choice. Hotel just after the renovation, big and clean rooms. The hospitality of the owners is amazing. 5 min walk distance to the beach (no people only palm trees - like in paradise). You have to try food because it's a very good one. Good vibe of the place.

Tucked away off the main road, this property is a true oasis. The friendliness and the attentiveness of the staff was second to none making every moment at Sama retreats memorable. Local food served was sensational with the chef kindly explaining the origins of each dish. The rooms are peaceful and tranquil, and while all the mod cons are available it does feel like you are stepping into another world. The beach is quiet and on most occasions the only others you will find are the local fisherman that are happy to offer a smile and a chat. We can’t wait to return.

The rooms are spacious, clean, and very well maintained. The pool is amazing — we didn’t want to leave! The staff are friendly, attentive, and pleasant. We felt very comfortable asking for things, and they were always happy to help. We used their service for a foot massage and a back massage — both were professional and excellent. A staff member took him to nearby markets, a wood-carving workshop, and a nice restaurant. Breakfast was generous and delicious.

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! It felt like a little slice of paradise. The food was amazing - big shoutout to the chef for the best meals we've had in a while. The beach and hotel were super clean, and we loved chilling on our balcony with that breathtaking sea view. The staff were all great, making our stay even better. We had a wonderful stay at the Sundara - not only the property is beautiful and well cared for but also the staff did an exceptional job in making us feel welcome and at home. Prasad helps with bookings of massages or tours, Hassan and his colleagues don’t leave any gastronomical wishes open. Everyone is friendly and caring. We enjoyed swimming in the nice pool, the spacious rooms, the delicious food & drinks and the direct beach access. We swam in the ocean, but check the tides before as waves can be quite high.
