WE were warmly welcomed. The room was beautifully clean and thoughtfully set up. Bathroom very clean. I loked the fact that there was a recycling box in the room.

Communication with the owner was very good. Isabelle is very attentive and caring. The house has 2 nice bedrooms and a very large bathroom. Very nice terrace, especially in the morning sun! The kitchen is well equipped. Having a washing machine and a dryer in a separate room (in which you find a sofa bed that is comfortable, at least for one person) was very good. The area is very quiet, and it was marvellous to be able to sleep with open windows. The outside is nice with an outdoor fireplace. The place was very clean.. the beds were very comfortable. Good shower pressure.
This elegantly-decorated Saint-Simeon motel is located in Quebec’s scenic Charlevoix region. Free Wi-Fi access is available in rooms. The guest rooms at Motel Cofotel also have cable TV.
This hotel overlooks the St. Lawrence River and is 10 minutes' drive from downtown Rivière-du-Loup. It offers an elegant on-site restaurant, spa treatments, and classic rooms with free WiFi.

The room was nice. Lots of space and a gas fireplace that made it quite cheerful. The bathroom was huge with a spa tub and separate shower. The beds were comfortable. It's also located next door to a restaurant so excellent if you're traveling and want to get something to eat latish. We didn't meet staff directly, except in the restaurant. However, we talked to them after we left because we forgot a pair of glasses. They were super nice and helpful and shipped them to us. That was really fantastic. Would cheerfully stay again.

Just a drive through after the ferry but would not recommend using booking for reservations. We got a room - supposedly the last in town - at a hotel - Cofotel - that wasn't worth staying at, and booking too a review on it I did not send, so if you are staying in Saint Simeon, do not use booking! Also, they kept posting rooms in Riviere du loup - a ferry ride across the St. Lawrence. I feel sorry for Saint Simeon as they are not a fancy town, but Booking and other tourist mentions do not make it look very inviting. At this time of year, not many restaurants are open or have good ratings.

The town is tiny, but near the ferry and very picturesque with abundant water views. There are very few restaurants and a tiny grocery store, so options are limited for dining out, but the grocery store is well-stocked with pre-made meals and sandwiches. Location is midway between La Malbaie and Tadoussac, so it is easy to explore both areas.

St Simeon is a lovely tiny town on the St Lawrence River.
St Simeon is a lovely tiny town on the St Lawrence River. It has a ferry that crosses over to the south shore of the St Lawrence River to Riviere du Loup. We stayed 2 blocks from the ferry terminal. There is a waterfront park there with picnic tables, a public washroom, and water access if you have your own kayaks or paddle boards. The local garage fixed our flat tire without any waiting. We just showed up and they fixed it right away. Thank you. Across the street from the ferry terminal is a cafe coffee shop. They make great coffees and have baked treats as well as sandwiches and wraps. We ate supper at the Restaurant sur Mer, a quick walk from the Cofotel Hotel ( we were given a free upgrade) where we were staying. Every table has a view of the St Lawrence. There were no vegan options here so we ate a vegetable soup and garden salad and fries. We were so grateful for the kindness and generosity of the people here: from the garage Savard that fixed our flat tire in record time, to the free upgrade at the Cofotel hotel, thank you. We will be back.

We were there in October and most of the restaurants in the town were closed. We could only find one, and it closed at 7:30 pm. But we were there only for one night and didn't have time to check out any attractions, beyond the ferry.

Our hostess was the sweetest and most accommodating.
Our hostess was the sweetest and most accommodating. We enjoyed the little river that runs past the inn while sitting in on the lawn and catching up on our day. St. Anne's Basilica is located just south of Saint-Simeon and it is worth a visit! Beautiful complex of buildings and extraordinary tile work. The devotion of French Catholics is evident in their architecture.
As on cue, the whales showed their splendor when we pulled into the hotel parking lot. And it only got better! Genevieve and Claude were wonderful hosts..helpful and kind. They have a number of board games available, but they invited us to play a Norse lawn bowling game with them…such fun! We went kayaking right in front of the hotel, too. Plenty of room outside on the lawn with chairs, tables and a grill, if you need one. Our room was more than spacious. When heading this way again, we will be back here to stay.
Great location on the river with a great view from our upper King room balcony. The hotel is older but the rooms were up to date, clean with lots of attention to detail. We had a Nespresso coffee maker, a good fridge with freezer and good selection of English TV. There is no elevator. We used this hotel as a base for our tour of the Saguenay western shore. Continental breakfast provided in a small seating area. Helpful owner spoke very good English.
The Gentilhommiere in Saint-Simeon is a beautiful, centrally located property where the Rive Noire meets the St. Lawrence. Based here we drove 20 miles north to Tadoussac to catch the “Navettes du Fjord” 11:30-5pm boat up the Saguenay River to L’Anse Saint Jean sighting Beluga Whales en route. Just a few miles south is Port au Persil, a photogenic park great for whale watching. The Gentilhommiere hosts are exceptionally gracious and helpful.
The hotel has a beautiful view of the ferry dock and beach and river beyond. They nicely provided a couple of plastic chairs on the balcony to sit and watch all the goings-on. The room was basic, so no more no less than we needed, with double beds, but it was very clean and tidy. For a warm summer's day, there was also a fan in the room, which was really helpful and made for a good night's sleep.
My son and I went to enjoy the whale watching tour at Baie Ste Catherine and needed a place to stay as we are not from the area. When we arrived at the hotel we were greated by a lovely, smiling woman, Lise. She was happy to help us. The room was very clean and cozy. It met our needs. We would definitely return should we be in the area.
marvelous view from balcony.. all super clean and very cosy.
Host was really helpful and was prompt to help us and make sure we had a very good stay.
We will be back at some point to explore the region... despite living 4 hours from Saint-Simeon we had no idea there was so much to explore.
Everything!! If you are ever cruising Saint Simeon, make it a must to stop here at the Horizon 777 motel. You will not regret it. James will go out of his way to provide you with all the comfort of home and more. You are royalty when you are Jame’s guest at the Horizon 777 motel.
The view from our room was wonderful, and the balcony, large enough for all three of us and a table, was very comfortable and a special treat. While the access was on the same level with our car, the fact that the hotel was built on a hillside gave us an upper story view!
Relaxing setting. View from my room. Clean. Great Location. Charming helpful caring reception desk. Rivière-du-Loup–Saint-Siméon Ferry right at your steps literally. Wonderful beach is 1 minute walking distance from hotel.
It’s useful if you want to take the first ferry across the St. Lawrence. Otherwise I’m would be looking for something else. It is literally a one minute walk from the hotel to the head of the ferry queue.
Nice small hotel with friendly staff. Excellent location, just 30 min from Malbaie or Tadoussac, 10 min drive from park Baie-des-Rochers with exceptional views. We plan to be back. Thank you!
We chose the hotel because it is close to the ferry. Suitable for those who need to leave early in the morning. The room is very clean. Quiet hotel and comfortable beds
The location and the view at that hotel is just beautiful like the pictures on the site.THAT’s what caught my eyes when I booked but when we saw our room….Outch!
