We had to be carefully when approaching the facilities. We came from the city side and intentionally past it to make a "u-turn" at the roundabout instead of trying to cross the street to enter the parking area.
Very friendly staff, too bad out dog was not allowed in the breakfast room, but we understand it and it was made clear. Room is small and packed but has all you need for one or two nights. Good breakfast with excellent choices.
Nice to be able to park the car in front of the room and on private property.
Set 5 minutes’ drive from Buxton in a rural location, this Victorian country house is set in 7 acres of parkland in the heart of the Peak District National Park.

Everything was perfect. Great location (the views were great and it was a quiet and secluded area but close enough to superstores and petrol stations in the area). The apartment itself was comfortable and warm. The building was well-maintained and clean.

Very comfortable, exceptionally clean. Room serviced daily. Delicious, generous breakfast. Host a fount of knowledge regarding the town and his experience as a tour guide really shows when you need any advice regarding visiting local places. Fantastic location within walking distance of the centre of Buxton.

The wood burner was great for making the cottage warm and cosy in the evenings, and the hot tub was such a treat to come back to after our walks. The bed was comfortable, and all the amenities were great. The welcome booklet had lots of information which was greatly appreciated. We also loved the on-site shop with lots of fresh produce to enjoy. Really good location that had nearby access to hikes and experiences.

We visited Poole’s Cavern & Country Park, enjoyed the tour round the cavern then a walk up to Solomon’s Temple, great views from there. Then we had the rest of the day looking round Buxton, great architecture and history. We had an evening meal in The Old Hall Hotel.

Buxton is a lovely town with a beautiful theatre and the train station is central. There are plenty of shops, tea rooms, cafes, pubs and restaurants all within close proximity. There is a park and pavillion, which accommodates a gallery. Also, Buxton is a short drive from other tourist attractions ie Bakewell, Ashford in the water and Chatsworth.

Buxton has a lot of interesting places to visit and there is plenty to do in the day and at night. We stayed for two nights, but could have found plenty to do for a week. There are a lot choice of Restaurants and we found the ones we went to were very good.

The most interesting small city and worth a visit, relies on good weather and make use of the spa. Check the tourist places and consider the beautiful theatre and pavilion. I recommend the Old Court house Brasserie for dinner.

I saw most of Buxton but with a car there is so much more to see and do in the area. Had a night at the opera; visited Chatsworth and Hardwick (which has amazing tapestries and history but is further away and would not recommend if only staying for a few days); Eyam and its museum; a guided walk around Buxton; Participated in Park Run 15 mins walk from Grendon B&B; Less busy and crowded than Bakewell although definitely would recommend a visit there; Gardens lovely to wander around; Countryside amazing and beautiful to walk in.
This was our third time at this hotel, having previously tried a few others as we spend quite a lot of time in Buxton due to events at the Opera House. This time we also attended with friends for whom I also booked a room. Very clean, some redecoration since we last visited, everything worked fine, bed was comfy and warrm (this being January) and the breakfast was its customary excellence. Check in/out times are fine and the hotel is in a great location opposite the park and near to the Opera House.
The location for visiting Buxton was superb, the town centre was walking distance and the bungalow was a great price for being dog friendly and self contained. We had a fantastic few days there, lovely food at The Old Sun Inn and Leubens and 20mins away from Mam Tor/ Castleton.
Bungalow also comes with parking spot & host Clare is easily contactable and replies quickly to messages.
We'll definitely be staying again if visiting Buxton or surrounding area!
A fantastic place to stay, big comfy room and snuggly bed, robes were provided for the spa. The bathroom had lovely shampoo, shower gel and even conditioner (which is rare in hotels). The facilities included in the price are amazing, and there are so many extras you can pay for its difficult to choose.
Its right in the centre of Buxton and very easy to find. The breakfast was amazing and had so much choice, and it was all great quality.
The hotel looks neat and very nice. The staff very polite and so helpful. The rooms are comfy and convient (except for one point I'll detail later). I didn't realise we would have a shared bathroom (but that's my mistake, it was clear from the website I just didn't pay attention), but it was not a bad experience, the bathroom was kept so clean.
Location is convenient just minutes away from Buxton centre and easy access from the road.
As someone who travels constantly this is by far one of the best places I have stayed, just stunning, they were over booked so I was given there cottage in town of Buxton, please do not hesitate to book botu cottage,it's central to everything and is so secluded and a perfect getaway, very high speck, a home away from home. Will book again in the future, can't wait to visit again.can not score it high enough.
Good location within walking distance of the main town centre and restaurants in a nice quiet area. The hotel has been painstakingly and beautifully restored. Rooms were large, comfortable and again immaculate with lots of nice thoughtful touches- big fluffy towels complimentary slippers, water and fruit. Also terrific breakfasts. Will definitely be our goto place to stay when we go back to Buxton
Right in the centre looking over the park. The room was lovely ,it was very spacious and clean.
I hadn't realised that breakfast wasn't included but that was my fault.
We have stayed in many hotels in buxton for around the same price which did include breakfast so that's why I gave 4stars
But again this is nothing against the tea room!
A very attractive hotel from the outside and equally so inside. Made to feel welcome and at home. Relaxed and comfortable environment. Great attention to detail, making our stay as pleasurable as it could be. Excellent breakfast choices and all prepared to a high standard. Hotel staff clearly very well trained, attentive and efficient.
Close proximity to the historical centre of Buxton. Right opposite the impressive parkland and gardens. Very comfortable and welcoming stay. Breakfast was delicious, and served with a smile. On-site parking close to entrance. Within a short walk to pubs for dinner. Supermarket nearby. Very happy to have stayed here.
Good location in a nice building, a short walk from Buxton Centre. Very nice flat, well appointed with plenty of cutlery, crockery, etc. Good, off-road parking. Flexible heating system. Efficient and smart showers and bath. Nice extras like Buxton mineral water and fruit cake.
This was a great stay for our week in the Peak District. Staying in Buxton meant everything was just about 30 mins away. Having an apartment rather than a hotel stay was also much preferred. This was a great experience, thanks for providing such high quality!
This is place is excellent. Contact from the host was excellent and they could not be more helpful and kind. Room was lovely with everything you need. Bed was very comfortable. Nice to have a space to sit outside too
Great location to visit Buxton
Very friendly hosts and staff and breakfast was lovely. Hotel is well placed for access to all local amenities with only a 15 minute leafy walk up to Poole's cavern. Would recommend for anyone who is looking to stay centrally in Buxton.
For a Victorian hotel I was impressed with the grandeur of the building and its location overlooking the town of Buxton. the room was spacious and a good size bed. there was a good amount of food at breakfast.
Spacious room and pleasant staff. The hotel is nicely located close to Buxton centre and the opera house. The area is quiet and pleasant, overlooking a park.
