Great ryokan in Hikone. Good value for money, nice spa, spacious tatami mat room. Non touristy area with many nearby restaurants. Very peaceful sleep and the owner drove us to the station the next morning. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

This was the best location imaginable. We loved exploring Zenkoji Temple and surrounds early in the morning and in the evening. The many food and shopping opportunities along Nakamise-dori are literally at the doorstep. Our favourite was the apple and custard pie from Benibeni.

Set in Takashima in the Shiga region, Marumo Ryokan offers accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a public bath.
