The rooms with private onsen baths were incredible - they were huge, traditional, and the baths were amazing. The kaiseki dinners and breakfasts were some of the best meals I have ever eaten. Very Japanese, with tatami room and older Japanese style bathroom, bathroom and toilet were separated. Staff was very friendly and caring, they don't speak English and basic Japanese is very helpful here, though I would say it could be handled even without knowing a word in Japanese.
