I loved being at the lighthouse and being at the ocean.
I loved being at the lighthouse and being at the ocean. I had not been out that way since I was about 10. And that was a very, very long time ago. The town of montauk was fun to explore and walks on the beach were always pleasant. I also got to see some minke whales just through my binoculars! Food was quite good. Quancho’s had amazing fish tacos. The Bambi cafe had a lovely light avocado toast with vegan feta which had wonderful flavor. The Left Hand made great coffee. Their flat white was one of the best.Guest review byEileen - 8.0

Southampton is a very quiet and enjoyable Eastern Long Island town. It has two scenic and historic Catholic churches, a quiet downtown, a historic cemetery, and a very pretty central park. The Parrish museum is also nearby. It is a good place to visit for a couple of hours and then move on.Guest review byAlanUnited States - 10.0

Everything was great especially since I came in on public transportation the only thing that I forgot to mention that was totally unfortunate was the fact that there is no Wi-Fi access on the beach although it was mentioned in the ad other than that I had a lovely time I went along met wonderful people all the amenities were there the pool was great the sauna was cool the beach was awesome and the property was beautiful there was actually live tomatoes growing by the road went to Goldberg’s for breakfast it was great I had a wonderful timeGuest review bykimberlyUnited States - 10.0
Hampton Bays is the main town to get an affordable hotel...
Hampton Bays is the main town to get an affordable hotel with close enough access to the rest of the Hamptons from Southampton to Montauk. There is also a main grocery store Stop n Shop there with much less grocery options as you go deeper into the Hamptons. There is also an old movie theatre with the old style seating (no fake leather recliners like many movie theatres now-a-days) surprising they didn't update for being in the hamptons. The many bays in the Hampton BAYS offer ocean views but not many beaches, the main huge beaches on the Atlantic Ocean side of he south fork are quite inaccessible to tourists during the busy season after memorial day. I just went to 4 of them from Southampton to East Hampton before memorial day when I could easily park and marvel at the endless beaches as far as the eye could see in both directions with no people. there are only TINY parking lots on the beaches with huge private houses in between the town and beach too far to try to park in the town and walk to beach. I suggest renting a Helicopter or get there at 5 am. Or know someone who has a mansion there. This is THEIR playground it is clear and I respect that. BTW the tree lined residential streets are impressive, I literally did a tree tour as they have preserved some magnificent trees.Guest review byNancyUnited States - 8.0
We went for my son's wedding.
We went for my son's wedding. East Hampton was similar to Hilton Head; Emerald Isle for scenery. The public beaches were far from where we stayed; but close if you have someone who has beach access (as we did). Not somewhere we would vacation again; but can say we have been and seen it.Guest review byAngelaUnited States - 8.0

They have direct access to the beach which is very nice and cabana boys that will put up umbrellas and chairs. Staff was nice location was good. I didn’t feel the accommodations were what I was led to believe in the photos. Tiny tiny bathroom & barely a kitchen , kitchen facilities lacking , pull out couch extremely uncomfortable tv noisy. I thought I booked first floor facing the ocean and we got second floor facing the treesGuest review byTessUnited States - 8.0
We stayed at the House on Chase Creek.
We stayed at the House on Chase Creek. The location is beautiful, quiet and peaceful. The host, Bill, was friendly, kind and full of recommendations for dining and sights to see on the island. The best thing was just relaxing on the porch swing and enjoying the quiet and stillness. We enjoyed driving and stopping at different locations enjoying the beaches and nature. There is a place in town to rent bicycles to get around. The place we stayed was with in walking distance to town. The restaurants we ate at were, The Chequit, Marie Eiffel Market, Vine Street Cafe, and The Islander.Guest review byStephenUnited States - 10.0

I’ve been going to Sagaponack for over 20 years and I love it, the beaches around the area, restaurants, shopping and the local people. Now there is a lot of traffic and more people. But I still go there.Guest review byJenniferUnited States - 10.0
Montauk is beautiful.
Montauk is beautiful. It feels like you’re away in the Caribbean but it’s just a few hour drive which makes it perfect if you’re close to NY and don’t want to fly. There are beaches, restaurants and shopping to fulfill everyone’s needs. It’s family friendly too.Guest review byAnonymous - 4.0

Beautiful place, but the restaurants were too expensive for what they give you. People in the restaurants and places were not nice at all. Never smile, never helped. I won’t come back because of these feeling of not being welcome.Guest review byDaniela CavestanySpain
