October was a good time for sightseeing even though it rained occasionally. The sun always came out again and it was much more pleasant than the previous visit during summer. The Istanbul card was easy to purchase and refill and made using the public transport system simple and very economical. As it also included the direct ferry routes across and along the Bosporus - but not the tours - it made travel on the water very attractive. The smaller locations along the Bosporus, especially on the Asian side were still full of visitors - especially at the weekend - but were generally less of a crush than around Sultan Ahmet and the Galata bridge. We particularly enjoyed walking round the leafy suburb of Kuzguncuk near Üsküdar.Guest review byDavidGermany - 8.0

Nature walks, a lot of nice places to enjoy the beautiful scenery of valleys and mountains, Sapancha is a very nice place to spend a couple of good long days with the family and kids or with your partner. Corlu is fine but not a tourist place. I was visiting friends. You are asking all these things but give no possibility of actually talking to you to get the problems we had sorted. Сool little town with friendly people, different restaurants and cafes, big and small shops, great food market, marina and promenade by the sea. I recommend for a couple of days, also to visit the thermal springs in the mountains once. Get to Yalova by ferry from Istanbul in 1.5 hours. Istanbul is an incredible mix of history and energy. My favorite spots were Çamlıca Camii, Eyüp Sultan Mosque, and the Bosphorus area, especially at sunset. I also loved visiting Akasya AVM for shopping — it’s modern and relaxing. Getting around is quite easy with the Marmaray and metro connections; public transport is well organized once you get used to the Istanbulkart system. Food is a highlight everywhere — I enjoyed kebabs, baklava, and Turkish tea almost daily! Even simple street food tastes amazing. For solo travelers, Istanbul is safe, lively, and full of friendly people.
