we stayed in the pool villas and they were absolutely amazing. I would say a little over priced (around 800 cdn a night) but that may have had to do with it was over New Years. The villas were located up on the cliff side and the trolley made for easy access with being able to avoid the stairs. The hotel offered a New Year’s Eve buffet, complimentary for the villas and have to say in all my trips to Thailand no where have I seen quality comparable to it, it was unreal. I would highly recommend if you’re willing to pay the extra money

Brilliant location. Fantastic building. Nice pillows and superb beds with proper body and neck support. Excellent showers as well. Fluffy towels and qualify sheets are a bonus. Unlimited bottled water. I’ve stayed 120 nights in hotels throughout Asia this year and this hotel is easily the best for quality, service and value. The staff are really lovely people.

We had a two-bedroom unit and it was comfortable for our family. Swimming pool was nice and clean. Staff were so helpful and thoughtful. They helped make my daughter's b-day extra special for her. Breakfast was fresh, fantastic and variety of choices. We will definitely recommend to our family and friends and stay again when we go back to Thailand.

    The Sala is an amazing boutique resort. It is small by comparison to the larger chains out there but this is by no means a bad thing. It has an aura of peace and quiet which was much appreciated. Set in the Mai Khao area, it is close to the airport which is an added convenience (but it is far from town so there is a downside to its location). My family and I (2 adults and 2 young kids) enjoyed our 2 bedroom pool villa. The villa was certainly spacious with 2 big bedrooms and an extra living room, not to mention an open (but sheltered) lounge by the pool. It also came with 3 full toilets and baths which was excellent. The pool was also big enough for the children to enjoy but there are bigger pools on site if you're up for a longer swim. Both rooms featured open air showers though they had an "indoor" shower if it rains (but showering in the rain is fun!). The hotel food was good with a wide range of choices. The buffet breakfast was scrumptious and well-suited for families. Facilities-wise, the Sala has a pool, gym, spa, sizeable grounds, yoga/Pilates classes, evening entertainment (incl. movie nights), a farm tour, cooking classes etc. It certainly lacks the features of the larger hotels but if you're looking for a quieter and more subtle vacation, you will appreciate what the Sala offers. The staff were also amazing. They were always helpful, friendly and professional. In particular, we were touched by the kindness of Khun Pong (who tended the luggage desk) and Khun Gift (who helped with our check-in and showed us around the resort). The team made our stay truly memorable, and we look forward to returning to the Sala in the near future.

    We enjoyed our stay, truly! We were looking for a place to celebrate our 20th anniversary, and having stayed at Rosewood in Vienna and amazed by it, decided to try it in Phuket. Very nice decor, beautiful view, very attentive staff ( prepared a cake for us and a rose petals bath ). The room is perfectly clean and nicely decorated, amazing view. It's not as big as I imagined, but we stayed outside at the beach so it want an issue. Nice cuisine at both restaurants and breakfast was something we really enjoyed every day. Good kids club

    There are lots of stalls for bargain hunters, heaps of food options and of course a variety of nightlife spots to keep you entertained. Choose your timing, if you want to avoid crowds then don't go in the evening. You can book all your tours at one of the many outlets. And you'll find the best exchange rates at the currency exchange booths. Be prepared for people to be constantly trying to get your attention for goods and services. I'd recommend doing at least one island tour, go to Old Phuket Town and treat the elephants to a delightful scrub.

    Sun (the manager) and his amazing team treat you like family instantly and you honestly feel that the hotel is your Thai home. My family and I will never forget the wonderful facilities, food and warm feeling we received from everybody at the Pacific Club. My sons wanted me to mention Ron and Joso who made their stay by always stopping for a chat. I could not recommend to a family a better hotel in Phuket. Each evening you can ask reception to organise a tuk tuk to take you to Karon main strip for a couple of pound and on a Tuesday and Friday there is a fantastic night market at the temple. Well worth checking out. The best places to eat (apart from thd lovely menu at the hotel) are the tiny restaurants down the side streets. The ones with 2 or 3 tables and plastic chairs where you can see the chef. We ate some of the best food of our lives for unbelievable prices. Leaving a tip in these places goes a long way!

    Great, long and clean beach. Sadly, the sea was too rough for swimming most of the time, but OK for splashing through the waves. It occasionally calmed down in the late afternoon/evening. This was in low season, so to be expected. A bit naughty, the sun bed vendors required the same price (100 Baht) irrespective of how long or short a time you wanted to use them. I've no idea how (or if) they remembered you had paid if you went off for lunch etc.

    There is a village feel to Kamala Beach, you can easily walk to shops, restaurants etc. Lots of local stalls for drinks, food, massages, sun loungers etc right on the beach. Later in the day beach volleyball is very popular - casual horseriding, jet skis, surfing and parasailing available. Some walkways/footpaths along the beach restaurant areas have been upgraded in the past 2 years - so much easier. There are now 3 supermarkets on the main road. This area is very popular with something for everyone. Our absolute favourite area in Phuket.

    Go along where the restaurants and people are as it's the nicest there, or a tiny bit farther south along the shore. Closer to the airport and national park, the beach is very dirty and full of rubbish, although you can watch the airplanes take off. I loved eating at The Beach Restaurant Nai Yang. Right on the beach and reasonable prices.

    Room for improvement to be clean and well organised to manage shops, restaurants, and massages to welcome tourists from around the world. Now is dirty not only because of trash from the waves but also on the beach with all shops - does not clean their own area. Recommend Bangtao Beach from the middle up towards the north to Layan Beach.

    I have been going to Rawai for 25 Years.

    I have been going to Rawai for 25 Years. I even bought land there. Its great as there are many beaches and restaurants, with Nai Harn very close a 5 Star Beach. There are many places of interest nearby, unfortunately Big Buddha is currently closed. One thing to note now is that the Banks won't let you take money from your Debit Card, Credit cards are O.K though, but I don't use them. Every where uses cash so make sure you take plenty of cash to last for your holiday. The ATM machine withdrawals will cost you £10 a withdrawal with a limit of £200. Average Restaurant meal costs around £25 for 3 people inc. soft drinks. I always hire a car, but services have improved with regular electric buses and always taxis/tuktuks,

    It was a very refreshing stay in the property which was full of greenery and good views of beach from the huge balcony attached to the suite. Did not want to leave the property so early and definitely want to come back again.

    We came to get away form Patong Town for the final days of...

    We came to get away form Patong Town for the final days of our trip, so the location was not a problem for us as we were also close to the airport. We recommend a visit to Baan Ar-Joor - the food is lovely and the history is interesting.
