With the largest population in Saudi Arabia, the Province of Mecca is located in the west of the country, reaching until the coastline of the Red Sea. The Holy City of Mecca is its capital, while Jeddah is the most populous, and the main port of the country.

Jeddah is a great destination to be discovered. The architecture is amazing, especially in the Old City. People are very nice and kind, willing to help even when they do not know English (they use google translate). Museums do not have a fee or a very small fee. The malls are huge and you can find an incredible number of brands. However Jeddah is not very friendly for tourists that wish to walk. Distances are very big and it is recommended to rent a car or take a taxi. I am not going to recommend this place to anyone because no customer service and you have to wait for elevator for long. Room is so dirty and bathroom was not good at all. Bidet was leaking whole time we asked them but they failed to fix it too. We have to ask so many times for toilet paper but they don’t want to give us and shower situation was bad too. Completely modernized. To get to Haram now it means lots of walking. They have improved queue control and they are constantly expanding. Situated right opposite Clock Tower and other business centre's, I think personally its a distraction because whilst we have the Kaba, the malls are mega busy and focus gets changed. Hats off to the poor people who cannot afford flashy hotels and fast food chains, they are all lined up and stationed outside the vicinity of Haram where they spend time sleeping and praying. No wonder Allah promised them Jannah 500 years before the privileged ones and so may Allah forgive us all ameen. You must come for Umrah or Hajj whichever you can afford and try to save and perhaps get your family over and sponsor someone which is as equal as doing it yourself. The feeling of seeing Kaba and then tawaf is amazing and what a challenge to even touch the Kaba.
