- From US$239.14 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 115 reviewsVery few lodges have a view like Naukluft Lodge. It is located about 45 minutes from Sossusvlei, right by the Naukluft Mountains, precisely on the border between the Hardap and Khomas regions. The panorama and tranquility are overwhelming. From the terrace of each room, you can gaze across the vast savannah and a striking mountain backdrop on the distant horizon. Sometimes in the evening, a large herd of wildebeest comes right in front of the lodge to drink from the water. Oryx are scattered in the wide steppe grass. The lodge is very well-equipped. The brick bungalows are comfortable and stand out for the breathtaking view from the private terrace. A small pool with a shaded seating area provides cooling. The breakfast buffet is rich and sufficient, and the dinner is an excellent 4-course menu. The lodge offers shaded parking spaces for vehicles. The staff is extraordinarily friendly and attentive. We spent two nights here, and I will definitely come back.Guest review byAlfredAustria
- From US$263 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 215 reviewsThe beauty of the scenery where Namib Desert Lodge is situated is not possible to do justice in photos. They have some marked trails you can hike by yourself, but also arrange trips and activities. It's a 2 hr drive from Sossusvlei and, yes, they do arrange daily excursions there - a must! The staff at Namib Desert Lodge were all wonderful - attentive and taking the best care of us. The room I had was great - clean and comfortable. The restaurant had good food - game meat always part of the menu - and they have a good wine cellar. I stayed five days and really relaxed there - enjoyed sitting outside in the lounge chairs with a book and watch a group of oryx/gemsbok come by the water hole just outside the lodge, every afternoon.Guest review byHenrikNorway
- From US$172.44 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 1,236 reviewsThis place is unreal. The setting is absolutely beautiful, lodges are amazing inside and out. Fully equipped if you wish to self cater or the half board option provides you with a fantastic all you can eat buffet option at their sister camp next door (it’s a must, it’s sooooo good). The rooms are huge, clean and comfortable. The staff were great, very helpful upon arrival and attentive at the bar when needed. Swimming pool provided great scenery and was a nice place to relax. Sossusvlei gate is only 5 mins away so the location is more than perfect. Would love to stay here again, I cannot recommend this place enough!Guest review byKaiKuwait
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 823 reviewsEverything. Perfect stay, unfortunately only one night. Animals, six rhinos right in front of you all the time. Good three course dinner, nice breakfast. Perfect view both from the bungalow, from the pool and the bar/ lounge. Stylish, nice furniture, very good bed, big bath, and separate toilet. Spotless clean. It is worth checking in early, so much to see. Complementary coffe / tea table with water, cookies, etc. Just grab some and watch wildlife and chill.Guest review byZoltanNorway
- From US$564.35 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 152 reviewsWoow, à beautiful very modern Lodge in the desert. A perfect bungalow, very modern and luxurious. The breakfast and Dinner buffet was okay, but for a 5* Lodge somewhat disappointing. The staff was not really friendly like we experienced it at other Lodge. Maybe a touch too modern in the middle of the desert? However, the sundowner drive was very interesting and we had a very good guide who explained everything about the nature and the region.Guest review byJanineSwitzerland

Ranger Pauls also was very professional, we learned a lot about Namibia. We really recommend this lodge to discover the country. Sundown experience was amazing.Guest review byTatiFrance

It was busy but still private enough not to spoil the overnight stay. The staff were very helpful in the shop. It was useful to have the fuel station as well. The supplies in the shop were adequate for the overnight stay and the location was convenient for Sossusvlei. The drive into Sossusvlei was fine but very crowded when we got to Deadvlei. Well worth a visit though.Guest review byFionaZimbabwe - 8.0

We stayed in this location mainly to visit Sossusvlei which is further south. Solitaire itself is a charming but tiny settlement - only a few buildings and a petrol station, however it has an amazing cafe serving "the world's best apple pie" and it was! Solitaire is about a 20 minute drive from Soft Adventure Camp at the Namib Naukluft Lodge.Guest review byJulietAustralia - 10.0

We stayed at the Desert Camp, not far from the park entrance gate. It was an easy drive to the park, and the 60km of wonderful tarred road to the 2 wheel drive car park. This gives access to Dig Daddy dune and Deadvlei. From here the park vehicle took us to Big Momma dune, and also goes to Hidden Vlei. All very easy. Dune 45 is 45 km along the road. The bus cost 180 Namibian dollars in October 2023. Wear runners to climb the dunes and walk to Deadvlei. Har, sunglasses and water are essential. We ate at the restaurant inside the park gate. Good and affordable. We bought our water at the shop there. Breakfast at the Sossusvlei Lodge was good too. I would recommend paying extra for tyre and glass insurance when picking up your rental car. Prior to coming to Sesriem, we had a flat tyre far from anywhere and Hertz directed us to a lodge with tyre repair services. We had to go on to Outjo to get the fixed tyre replaced, but the insurance made it less of a concern.Guest review byStevenIreland - 10.0

Best place to experience the oldest desert on earth.
Best place to experience the oldest desert on earth. Wonderful place to spend time with. At least you need to stay 1 night inside park to make sure that you can go to Deadvlei early in the moring. Take photos with shade of light. Hiking at Daddy dune in the morning and slide down to deadvlei.Guest review byOnnichaThailand - 10.0
