All the staff at the hotel were exceptional especially Jorge and Daniela. The property is extremely well maintained. The gardens are stunningly beautiful. The food at the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced and the restaurant staff very attentive. We really enjoyed feeding the turtles in the turtle garden and seeing the beehive. The cave under the hotel was very unique. We had a great stay and would highly recommend it.

The villa and its location is divine. Surrounded by nature in the middle of the jungle, the atmosphere is filled with sounds of birds and animals. When we got there it rained and it was lovely hearing the sound of the water on the cabana. It was a treat to see the sunrise in the morning, and have a delicious cooked breakfast afterwards. The staff are so helpful, caring and lovely. You can enjoy the lagoon.

Although La Antigua is amazing city, there is no need to leave this marvelous hotel. I've visited dozens of hotels through my live. Most of them were wery good. But this one is above all of them and above my secret expectations. Highly professional service and staff as well as smooth music, that can be heard in common spaces and relaxing smells, build the atmosphere of wellbeing and luxury. Additional gems are free entrance to the meseum, to the pottery and chocolate workshops and the private, guarded, underground parking. What an amazing place. I wish everybody could stay there.

We arrived late after spending most of our day at the airport and without our luggage, The staff were friendly and helpful, We were worn out from the worst travel experience with Delta airlines (don’t fly Delta) everything that could go wrong did go wrong with that airline from booking in the beginning to theft from my luggage at the end, three nights after my flight and I still don’t have a reasonable answer from them about my stolen items, one of which was a tracking device… The stupidest theft on the planet! We woke up slightly refreshed and found we had our own private infinity pool that overlooked the beautiful blue of the ocean, we didn’t have any clothes or swimmers and the staff helped to direct us to the nearest mall, sadly nothing was open though but we were lucky to find a couple of shops nearby that had some suitable clothing items, so we headed back to the room which was clean and comfortable and because our luggage still hadn’t arrived and would not until our next hotel, the staff were kind enough to allow us a late check out of 1pm while we waited, so we soaked up more of the sun and crystal water while we waited for our luggage and to check out. Lovely buffet breakfast, traditional Mexican food and reasonable prices. lots of vegetables and after spending two weeks in America and not having enough Vegetables due to all the junk food everywhere, I was stoked to get a good fill of fruit and veggies to start the day right!

Amazing room with an ocean view. The room has literally everything one can wish for and it was very very clean. The hotel has many pools and one with a bar in it, the view from there is just amazing!! The hotel has several different restaurants, our favorite was the American one. The buffet is also great! Many options, fresh and delicious.

I had a great full body massage on the beach with the hotel. They had an offer ... it was worth every penny with the sound of the beach as a background noise. Just perfect!! I stayed at the hotel for all meals - nice and diverse options. Was not fan of anything that was served at the snack bar though.

Antigua is a great location to get a taste of Guatemala.

Antigua is a great location to get a taste of Guatemala. It is easily accessible by private or collective vans from the Guatemala City airport. It is a very safe place to visit for single women or tourists traveling for the first time to Guatemala. The city is very walkable but be aware that the traffic in the streets has the right of way, so be careful stepping off the curb to cross the street. I love walking the streets and visiting the old church ruins. The Markets are full of local goods from Guatemalan artisans. If you have time the local interior market is an adventure worth exploring. The area has a multitude of great restaurants and places to eat. It's a good place to spend a few days, or just use it as a stop on your way to other parts of Guatemala.

Algea covered the beach (it was july), the restaurants were priced higher than where we live but the quality of the food was poor. If you are a family I would skip and go elsewhere. Safer than the last time I went to Guatemala - about 25 yrs ago- . A lot of non tourist places to explore. Beautiful country side. The only tourist area I explored were Antigua, lake atitlan, Flores which are well suited for tourist, with all the services they might desire. Other parts of the country some level of spanish is required. I spent 7 months traveling mostly northern part of Guatemala, only seeing a fraction of what the country has to offer to travelers.

Check out the two light shows at the downtown church and the ex-convent. Both, unfortunately start at 9pm so you might have to catch them at two different times. For more affordable food options, don't bother eating at the Calzada de los Frailes restaurants. Most places are overpriced!

The town is charming, the restaurants serving local cuisine are delightful and the summer climate is amazing. 15 degrees at night and 22 or so during the day with no humidity. There are many activities in or near San Cristobal and we enjoyed the local parks at Arcotete and Grutas del Mamut. Our dogs were able to run off-leash and explore the forest. We spent a month at a Spanish language school (San Cris) which was a wonderful place to improve our language skills.

Small town with terrible infrastructure. It is a shame to keep it in misery conditions with the loads of money brought by tourists, mostly foreigners happily walking in mud, dirty water ponds, as they walk in the luxurious boutiques owned by other foreigners. You may find amazing nature in many other Mexican destinations in better living conditions.
