Had an absolutely lovely stay here. The owner and the staff are very attentive and create a really heartwarming atmosphere. Location is great actually: very close to Medina and all attractions, but the neighborhood is quiet and not crowded at the same time. Room is clean and has everything needed. Definitely recommend.

Everything - beautiful location - wonderful staff a lovely home prepared breakfast - I couldn’t fault this property. Special thanks to Mahmoud and to Mohammed who are brilliant ambassadors for Luxury Chefchaouen and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and memorable, booking a restaurant for us after we arrived later than expected and assisting with my wife’s dietary requirements at breakfast. Overall a fabulous experience.

The staff were so welcoming when we arrived and throughout our stay nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfast was delicious up on the terrace and our room was lovely and really clean. It was a ten minute walk to the souk which was very convenient. I would definitely stay here again.

I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Gernika during my recent trip to Chefchaouen, and I couldn’t have been more delighted with the experience. From the moment I arrived, the hotel’s peaceful ambiance and stunning views of the Rif Mountains captured my attention. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, offering excellent service throughout my stay. They were always happy to provide recommendations on local attractions and restaurants, making me feel like a part of the community. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated with traditional Moroccan style, featuring intricate tile work and cozy, colorful rooms. My room was spacious, clean, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay, including a private balcony that offered sweeping views of the famous blue-painted streets of Chefchaouen.

The room was very pretty, decent shower with hot water, very nice terrace to hang out and good location, is in the medina but on the edge so you can get by taxi basically just couple of steps away. We spent 3 nights and we had a really good time.

I would like to thank our host Ayub and his team, kitchen staff Sara and Hamza, for looking after us. They were very friendly and polite with my kids and showed great care and respect for my mother, too. The hospitality is on another level, and so was the level of cleanlines.     We had an absolutely exceptional stay at Dar Wadada, a place full of soul and character perched high above the blue city of Chefchaouen. Far from mass tourism and noise, we found here a home — not a hotel — where you’re welcomed as friends, not guests. Rachid, the owner, is a true one-man show. Warm, attentive, charismatic, always there without ever being intrusive. His presence is felt through every detail, and his team is just as amazing — professional, kind, yet almost invisible. The setting is pure magic: lush greenery, fruit trees, goats, cows, birds, a friendly dog, a curious cat… and a peaceful mountain silence that grounds you instantly. In April, nature is in full bloom — it’s breathtaking. And above all, there’s no need to overthink anything here. Just come as you are, stay simple, and go with the flow. That’s the spirit of Dar Wadada. Thank you Rachid for this unforgettable moment with my wife. We left recharged, lighter, and already dreaming of coming back. If you’re looking for a place rooted in authenticity, connection, and calm — this is it.

    Everything was really good. We had a room with a balcony with an amazing view to the city.. Mohamed gave us a little tour of the city because we had some issues with kids surrounding our car and being aggressive because they thought we were taking pictures of them and also right at the parking lot we saw a motorcycle accident with people fighting and blood all over their faces. This was not the Dar fault and Mohamed was so great by reassuring us and guide us through the city center.

    One of the best riads in town The boys and their service is simply out of the world. The communal area was very relaxing and welcoming. Even though the room had some scope to be better, the service was simply 11/10 and thanks to all the folks working there. They went out of the way to come down to town, drop us in rain and find a taxi. Keep up and all the best.

    Picturesque but very touristy and an excess of street vendors selling many crafts which likely come from China (are not made locally). Extremely hot when we went in July. Very important to get a decent guest house with air conditioning. 2 days is more than enough.

    Yes, it's touristy, but it's so particular with all its blue buildings, in the midst of beautiful nature, that it's a must. Be prepared to climb a few hills! Favourite restaurant: The Twins in the square. Had a few good meals just people watching, and really cheap!

    Gorgeous city tucked into a hillside. We enjoyed the drive from Tangier. Fabulous city for photos (all the gorgeous shades of blue!). We took a cooking class at Cafe Clock - fun, intimate and we made tons of breads an pastries. For us 1.5 days was plenty of time to explore and enjoy. It's a little bit touristy in areas but worth the visit! one of my friends thoroughly enjoyed a massage and bath at a Hamman too.
