We stayed for two nights and it was a fantastic time. The breakfast and dinner were super delicious and the staff is so friendly and helpful. The also organised us a safari trip to wilpattu and a very nice transfer to negombo. The hotel has a very nice pool, the place is so lovely with a very green and beautiful environment.

From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the beauty of the surrounding nature—lush greenery, serene landscapes, and the peaceful sounds of wildlife. I can’t rate my stay highly enough. This is my second visit here. I came back to see if I could find the elusive sloth bear and I did on my first days safari I was lucky enough to have Anton and Randy as guides. Also saw a variety of birds and a leopard walking in a distance on the road, a truly beautiful sight. Second day I went with Chamod who was an excellent spotter of birds even saw a leopard on the beach across the lake. Of course this is a National Park and you have to be lucky to see leopards and bears but the quality of the guide is a must. This is why I returned to Anton and his team. The food was excellent and bountiful. Breakfast the morning I left was a feast . Nothing is too much trouble, one evening they even arrange a birthday cake for a guest after dinner. Water is provided also there was never a problem if I wanted coffee or boiling water for my tea. Anton is passionate about wildlife and his customers, you can really feel it. At the end of my stay he even took me to the bus stop and made sure I got on the right bus. I can’t thank the team enough for another amazing 3 night stay. You can go wrong with your stay here. Excellent accommodation at a budget price.

Everything! One of the best places we have stayed. Amazing staff who are sweet, kind and incredible personal service. Serene surroundings. The design of the villa is incredible. Very beautiful room. Owner of the property - Chaya , was very hospitable and helpful. She helped us to organize a tuk tuk tour around Anuradhapura with a private guide - Adid (super nice guy with a big knowledge). The apartment was huge, clean and with air conditioning. Nothing was missing. The food , that Chaya made for us , was delicious. The best we had tried in Sri Lanka (really). We regret that our stay was so short and we missed the cooking classes…maybe next time. I highly recommend this apartments. Greetings from Poland

This place has everything you need, even an adapter for charging your phone. The hosts are very friendly, gave a lot of info about visiting the temple complex and you can even rent a bicycle. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, a mix of local and continental food. A lot of thought has been put into making this beautiful place, nothing is missing. There is a garden also and lots of plants. You won't feel cramped here, the rooms are very spacious and also clean.

The place is way beyond every expectation and the hosts are the most amazing couple we could ever meet! I would need an entire book to list everything that impressed us positively. The accomodation is really cozy and super comfortable and the setting is magical, really quiet and immerse in nature. The breakfast, all home made, was delicious and Dammika was incredibly kind to come and pick us up at the train station. Will never recommend this place enough, I’m so thankful! Can’t wait to come back

The welcome and the service that we received were exceptional - unrivalled by any other hotel visited during three weeks in Sri Lanka. The staff were genuinely happy that we were their guest, and they were not afraid to show it. From the moment we arrived, they did everything and more to make sure that we were comfortable. The central courtyard garden lent the hotel an idyllic cosy community feel and allowed us to feel nicely isolated from the bustle of the streets outside. The pool area was scenic, the pool functional, and there were a bunch of sun beds from which to capture the sun as it moved above the tree line. One of us fell ill during our stay. The manager offered to take us to the hospital, assisted us there, and the entire team attended to us tirelessly day after day - including complimentary afternoon tea in our room. Bicycles were available to borrow to get around and see the various fascinating heritage sites - and we'd really recommend using them! Breakfast was predominantly Euro-continental, incredibly generous, and tastier than anything else we had in Sri Lanka outside of 5* hotels. Dinner was tasty too. The menu was diverse and competitively priced. Table service was exquisite. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and secure. The location was great - perfectly situated for exploring town, set back from the road so as to be silent at night, and with quick access to the lake on foot. A beautiful gaggle of peacocks graces the gardens. The hotel arranged our onward travel to Trincomalee in a comfortable car at a competitive price.

The Cinnamon Lodge exudes a charming colonial ambiance and is perfectly integrated with the stunning natural environment. The tranquil pool area, with its playful monkeys, added a unique and authentic Sri Lankan touch to our experience. We were thoroughly impressed with the quality and variety of the buffet breakfast and lunch served in your restaurant. The extensive selection catered to all tastes, and the authentic Sri Lankan dishes were particularly delicious. The dessert spread, especially the fresh fruits, was also a delightful treat. A special mention must go to Lalith, our room butler. His attentiveness and dedication to meeting our every need were exceptional. He consistently went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and well-prepared for our excursions. His service truly enhanced our stay and made us feel incredibly well looked after. Cinnamon Lodge Habarana is a true gem, and it is the exceptional staff, like Lalith, that make it truly special. If we are fortunate enough to return to Habarana, we will undoubtedly choose to stay at Cinnamon Lodge again.

Super quiet but also right in the heart of town. Beautiful green lush garden and staff were exceptionally welcoming. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Sukumal and Ajith are 2 of the most amazing people I have ever met who went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and welcomed and helped me with anything that I needed. Overall had an amazing stay and would defenatly return!

Such a nice place! Highly recommended if you want take a breake and forget about world for 1/2 nights. Ten was clean and cosy. We ate a delicious dinner in the middle of the forrest at night. Safari was very nice and what it the most important - not as commercial as others. The servise was very good! :)

During my stay, the property owner made several inappropriate and judgmental comments about my affordability and my decision to share meals with my mother, who is disabled. His behaviour was rude and discriminatory. After I posted my review describing my disappointment, the owner contacted me directly on my personal mobile number using very abusive and offensive language. This message was completely unacceptable and made me feel unsafe.

Not good not fair over change for food n breakfast n vegetarian dinner They said 5000/=rupees change nearly 8000/= with out breakfast Over charge for water bottles Tea and breakfast Every thing not reasonable Please consider

We loved our Homestay chez Olivia . Lovely couple very hospitable and helpful. Hired bikes which was wonderful to go see all the Stupa sites etc. beautiful area & lovely garden. Birdlife was fabulous. Highly recommend

Good location to visit the National parks where Elephants roam. Take a short drive to Ritigala and be amazed at the heritage site of a millenia old large forest monastery. Dine at the Ran Rasa restaurant for one of the best Chicken Koththus you will taste..

Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place.

Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place. It's different from the other sites in Sri Lanka because it still attracts so many pilgrims to its religious sites. It's a good idea to dedicate one day to visiting the active pilgrimage sites and the next to the historical sites, for which you need a ticket. Remember to cover up with long trousers and sleeves and don't forget your socks, because the ground is really hot and you have to take off your shoes everywhere. If you have an extra day, you can also return to the sites at night, which is when pilgrims light candles. Make sure you've got the Pick Me app installed and look out for a tuk tuk driver called Nisha. He's absolutely amazing: great driver, kind and attentive and with good English. For dinner, the atmospheric Hotel Shalini is a good bet. The Seedevi family restaurant is another good place. If you want to have a beer, they can put you in a separate 'family' room, or you can go to the tiny 'pub' next door.

Beautiful jungle surrounds. Lots of activities. Safari doesn't tell you about all the extra costs involved. Entry fee big. Tip for animal spotter. The Harabana lake cruise is brilliant. No motor just a gentle paddle, allowing you get up close to wildlife
