I stayed at ACC Design for 2 nights and loved it. The staff were lovely, bed had fresh white sheets and cover with good normal pillows. The aircon was just right, place was super clean, quiet and had great block out curtains. I found the size and set out of the room good-the sink is separate to the shower/toilet area which I find a bonus. Only minor negative is heavy glass bathroom door which can’t stay open. But that’s really insignificant, It’s in a great walkable area to the shops-1min walk out the door to yr left. PS Try the restaurant Chun Li right next door where all the locals go. They don’t speak English but are helpful. Healthy food and free soft serve ice creams. A great hotel for the price.Guest review byJoanneAustralia

Gwangju is the 6th largest city in Korea.
Gwangju is the 6th largest city in Korea. There’s plenty to do and see, but is definitely at least a weekend trip. However, there is something for everybody — whether you’re into hiking, history, shopping, or eating. Gwangju is also pretty spread out depending on what you want to do/see so plan accordingly and make note of where things are! I stayed in Gwangju for a week primarily to do an event with the world famous Koran Randonneur Cycling Club. A 600k Gwangju-Busan-Gwangju. The ride started near City Hotel which is also located near the bike paths along the river. While in Gwangju I visited the very excellent Gwangju Museum of Art and the Cemetery. Gwangju publicises itself as an arts and culture centre.
Gwangju publicises itself as an arts and culture centre. It has a fantastic national museum and an interesting modern art museum. A Famous K-pop star BTS J Hope) comes from there and there is a cool area with cool shops and restaurants. I would have stayed a couple more days to see some more things but my accommodation wasn't to my liking and I moved on.
