Lake Jipe is in such a beautiful location. The lake and Tsavo are just by the lodge. You're fully immersed in nature. The room is simple and comfortable. The swimming pool is a great place to cool down between safari drives.

The location of the place gives the perfect balance between a safari adventure in Tsavo East or West and the lush hills in Taita. We're surrounded by bushbaby's in the night watching the night sky from within the balloon. We have taken a boda boda to Wundanyi town which on itself is already a beautiful trip. Also you can do hikes in the nearby mountains. Thank you once again Jay, it was awesome. The balloon is located right in the middle of the valley and therefore submerged in green all around. And of course most people visit Kenya to do a safari. Serah can help you out perfectly to organize it with local guides that are grown up right next to the park. Tsavo East was great! Wifi was good. Shower under the mango tree is unforgettable. Cooking outdoors, a spotless clean sleeping place and comfortable bed. I can keep mentioning things, but this place I recommend to every adventurer out there.

Unfortunately the lack of rains for the past three seasons...

Unfortunately the lack of rains for the past three seasons have impacted the wildlife, and there were many dead animals. But the upside to this is that those larger animals still in the tourist area of the part were concentrated around water holes. Making them easier to view. Access to the NP is very expensive (USD 100 per person) for a non-Kenyan resident. While this is a tax which helps keep Rangers and other staff in work, it seems elitist and unaffordable for the majority. Some of that money would be well spent on improving the tracks within the park. They are extremely uncomfortable to travel along and, even in a 4x4, quite dangerous. With our vehicle regularly sliding out to the sides. The best advice on seeing wildlife is to be a little adventurous and take some of the less regularly used tracks. We were able to see elephant, Greater and Lesser Kudu, all the big cats except leopard, snake eagles and many other bird species.
