Despite a slight delay with customs and luggage collection at JKIA, the shuttle driver, Philip, patiently waited for me—thank you for the exceptional service! The hotel is conveniently located just a 10-minute drive from the airport, and upon arrival, the night staff at reception gave me a warm welcome, making me feel right at home. Their support and kindness truly stood out. After a long journey from Washington, I was exhausted, but the meal provided was excellent, and I had a restful sleep in a wonderfully comfortable bed. Everything I needed was available, making my stay smooth and enjoyable. I also appreciate the assistance from both the hotel manager and the shuttle driver in helping me sort out a SIM card at the airport. Their support made a huge difference, and I am truly grateful. Safety is the best of Karen.
Safety is the best of Karen. It's quiet, a lot of nature, sidewalks (so good for walking/running). Waterfront mall has everything you need, CJ's restaurant are high quality. Same with Naivas markets. It might be hard to get public transport, but Uber-Bolt are in 1000s. Giraffe center and Waterfront amusement are great places to visit. Nairobi is such a mixture of people and things to do. We visited Karen Blixin museum and the slums as well as the giraffe manor and elephant sanctuary. The National Park in the middle of the city is stunning. I had a great time in Nairobi. Love the people. They are so welcoming and accommodating. Loved the food . My only challenge was the language and the traffic jam at certain hours and crossing the roads in some areas. The driving is "fast and furious". Its easy to get around Nairobi with an Uber and a couple of touristic sites to visit like the Nairobi National Park, which is good for nature lovers.
