- From $331.96 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 193 reviewsAmazing hotel. Not a cheap one, but it is definitelly worth the money. We definitelly recommend to take a room with a view, seeing mountains in the morning was wonderful. We didn't have a ryokan-type room but were still amazed by the quiality of everything - cleanliness, design, etc. Our room had a capsule coffee machine, a set for drinking tea, hair brushes, hair pins and other small things that added a pinch of comfort to our stay. The hotel also provides guests with Japanese-style clothing: a set of a "shirt" and pants, and a yukata. You can walk in it everywhere in the hotel which was very nice. The hotel has public onsens on two floors, both have open-air baths. The staff is very understanding and would help with the rules of visiting. You can also book private onsens that turned out to be not very expensive. Sometimes the hotel holds special events. We managed to visit stargazing and saw Jupiter through a telescope while eating sweet potatos! The hotel provides a bus that regularly travels through the Arima village. You can also call the hotel to pick you up. The village itself is very beautiful. There is a ropeway to the nearby mountain. I heard you can also hike to the summit.Guest review byKseniaRussia
- From $360.82 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 695 reviewsSo close to the station, very convenient. My room looked exactly like in the picture w/ a beautiful sea view of Amanohashidate & the bay. I stayed there in July, during summer, and the AC was super cold, which I really appreciated. In the bathroom they have make up cleanser, toner, lotion by Pola very convenient. They also provide some product for men, shaving cream, aftershave & lotion. I also enjoyed the foot onsen at the back of the hotel, really relaxing. The garden at the back also offers a gorgeous sea view, perfect for unwinding. There’s a nice restaurant just a one-minute walk away, located on the second floor above a shop that sells food, sweets & knickknacks. It’s also easy to access the temple, ferry tour station and some charming little shops nearby. Don’t forget to stop by a lovely cafe right by the water, it's overlooking the rotating red bridge, they serve lovely desserts.Guest review byNindiyaIndonesia
- From $156.14 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 1,754 reviewsThe hotel in the heart of action. Minutes away walking from best bars and clubs. Also, what is VERY rare in Japan. Sound isolation, you could barely hear anything. The private bathroom is small but very well made, really good showers, easy to regulate water temperature. Good internet. Really good option if you need some thicker walls because you don't want your neighbours to hear you discussing business (if you know what I mean) ;) The room was small but the bed was high so a proper suitcase fits underneath, saving space.Guest review byLukaszLithuania
- From $326.71 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,826 reviewsThe onsen in a cave experience was so soothing and relaxing. One could listen to and watch the waves while bathing in the warm healing waters. Also the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Oohatta especially came to my aid to help me with my travel logistics the following day. The whole atmosphere is calm and welcoming. I also enjoyed taking a ferry from the Katsuura pier to get there. No complaints at all.Guest review byFrancescaUnited States

Osaka is a great city with many wonderful attractions and very ideal as jump off to other cities like Kyoto and Nara. There were also many beautiful and fun places to go to like Dotonbori and of course Osaka Castle. We stayed here for 6 days but there were so many other things we still want to do. We'll definitely return.Guest review byJeniferPhilippines - 10.0

Arashiyama (Bamboo Grove) - Go in the afternoon, its not as crowded Otagi Nenbutsuji Temple - a bit of a challenge to get here but was worth the challenge and was refreshing to get away from the city. Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pravillion) - A must for anyone going to Kyoto but be prepared for crowds at any time. Saryo Tsujiri Tea House - go here but leave time to line up and dine in. We had to do take away and was a little sad about this. Wander around the main streets of Kawaramachi Station and Gion on a Friday or Saturday night and along Kamon River. See people enjoying their evening, buskers and the night life. Unimpressed by Pontoncho Alley both during the day and night. There are better things to check out.Guest review byJessicaAustralia - 10.0

Kobe is a great city to visit. A vibrant, buzzing and cosmopolitan city with memorable features such as the ropeway to the herb garden at the JR Shin Kobe Station at Sannomiya (an absolute must for visitors), the Maya cable car and ropeway and the Akashi bridge to Awaji Island.Guest review byPeterAustralia - 8.0

I didn’t check closing times of temples and it was hard to determine the last buses back from further out locations. I did end up having a nice evening walk along a riverside to find a train station to come back into town.Guest review byStephanieAustralia - 10.0

We only stayed one night when we arrived as we needed a place to recharge and freshen up before we head to Kyoto. The hotel is very nice with complete amenities in the room. The room we occupied has the view of the airport runway but we never heard any noise coming from the airplanes arriving and taking off. A bit expensive but it was worth it. Breakfast buffet was very good too.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

After staying in Kyoto, it was refreshing to stay in a smaller, quieter city for a couple of days. Himeji, had ample malls and restaurants to satisfy the needs of all tourists and yet has a nice small city feel. We saw the castle in the afternoon, and didn't encounter large crowds. The Koko-en Garden was relatively quiet when we saw it in the morning.Guest review byJulieCanada - 10.0

The scenic mountains near the city offers stunning sunset views. The Sakura were in full bloom. There are several parks around the city, and the impressive Wakayama castle. The hotel (Candeo Hotels Nankai) is great value - fantastic river views, rooftop onsen that you can enjoy the sunset. And right at the Wakayama Station. Good dining options around the hotel too.Guest review byKwokSingapore - 10.0
One of Japan's six ancient kiln towns.
One of Japan's six ancient kiln towns. If you are into ceramics it's a brilliant place to visit. If you're not, it's a lovely, relaxed town with nice walks and good places to eat. Very close to Nagoya airport. There is a free shuttle bus into Tokoname or use the station. Home of the lucky waving cat - Maneki Neko!Guest review byCerysUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We loved our trip here. Little did I know, I seem to enjoy travelling in a pretty laid-back city and Ise was just perfect for that. If you're craving for a small city experience, out from the other international travelers, I'd recommend Ise for sure.Guest review byRizki Dwi KelimutuIndonesia - 10.0

We are Americans so we had really little knowledge of Shirahama as a resort city. It was at the tail end of a 3 week tour of Japan and was very restful. Fortunately, we were there after Golden Week and before the main tourist season, so it was quiet and relaxing. We had fun over two nights at a local Turkish restaurant, Blue Bar. We'd recommend it. Also, the beach seemed quite nice although we had one day or rain so we didn't hang out there. While this wouldn't be a regular stop for Americans, I think it is worthwhile and an easy train ride to the airport in Osaka.Guest review byAndrew
