A great place to stay at Como lake! Super clean, comfy, very warm (I stayed in January) and the personnel was really helpful, regularly checking in if all is good :). Coffee and sweets were really nice surprise. I truly recommend to anyone wishing to stay in Mandello del Lario, and hope to be back there in the future! Thanks for making my stay so nice

The staff was friendly and attentive. Communication prior to our arrival and during our stay was excellent. The room was super clean and recently renovated. The breakfast was wonderful. Our stay could not be any better! Best hotel, best location, best food, best staff!! I went to Como with my friends to celebrate my birthday. Staff did everything to make my day special. I booked a table at hotel’s restaurant and everything was just perfect - service, food (!!!) interior of the restaurant, beautifully decorated dinner table and they baked for me and my friends the most delicious tart with fruit as a birthday cake. The room was super clean, well equipped, 3 mirrors in the room (very important for girls’ trip hehe), a view over lake (!!), biggest balcony, TV with Netflix and YouTube, full fridge with all kind of drinks and so on and so on. Literally everything was perfect!! I’ll come back!!! hopefully soon!

A Haven of Alpine Tranquillity

Surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the Alps, Lake Como is a long, thin lake in the shape of an inverse ‘Y’. At its south-west corner is the beautiful town that it’s named after – Como. A short train ride from Milan, this is the starting point for several Lake Como cruises. If you take the funicular railway up to Brunate you get magnificent views of the lake and mountains, towards Switzerland just to the west.

The laidback and sophisticated way of life makes Como Lake popular with celebrities and several have homes in exclusive Bellagio, which is almost entirely surrounded by water. The views here are breathtaking, so it’s easy to see why of all the Lake Como hotels, Bellagio has the greatest concentration.

Just across the water are Lenno, Tremezzo and Menaggio, home to many exclusive lakefront hotels, many with swimming pools. You can actually swim in some parts of the lake, and the best beaches are found in the area near Gravedona in the north. Fanning out around a small harbour, this town offers some of the best Lake Como watersports.

At the lake’s south-eastern corner is Lecco, a town in the shadow of rugged mountains. Booking.com has a great range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Lecco and all the other main Lake Como towns.

    You think you visited good places? Or even very good places? Giacomino Agriturismo is for sure better than them. Our life usually short enough to visit places twice - but here we will return, no doubt! Amazing landscape over 2 lakes with a large and lovely garden makes you feel like you are in heaven. Drinking very tasty home-made wines (and beers, too!), eating original-local tastes of the farm, enjoying perfect selection and type of Italian coffees just let you relax and get reenergized fully.

    A very beautiful place, beautiful shops and eating houses, the Lido is a great place for sunbathing and a lunch time meal. There are very few Taxi so you will need to walk alot, you will spend a lot of time waiting for ferries, getting tickets, we went in mid Sept and it was still very busy.

    Lecco is in the south part of Lake Como, but from almost all the cities that we look around the Lake, apart from Bellagio, Lecco is the most picturesque because the mountains chain in the Background. Is simply breathtaking. The city itself has nice restaurants, stores and the walk around the lake is fantastic. Is served from a Train station the reaches Milan and the airports in few times, make it easy to depart and come from overseas. The ferry boats have a fantastic service, and people are nice and helpful. Loved Lecco!!!

    We stayed at the Varrena house for three nights. The location was perfect. We could walk to everywhere. We enjoyed the beautiful sunset and villas nearby. We party view of the lake was very beautiful. This unit has two bedrooms which are clean and comfortable. The host was very responsive and helpful. They helped us get a car service to pick us up and drop us off at Milan with very reasonable pricing. We requested for extra soap and laundry detergent and toilet paper. They immediately sent us the items we requested.

    I’d definetly book this place again, great views. It was fairly easy to get to and from, bit of a long journey but didn’t mind. The staff were great and the other people staying were nice to very international and friendly oh and I loved seeing peoples dogs but I’m not sure if they were staying there? The room was clean, beds comfortable, WiFi not sure it worked, breakfast good and fair price.

    It's a cute town with some lovely restaurants and easy enough to walk around for someone of average fitness. However if your purpose is to explore most of Lake Como, you will be limited to the slow ferry up to Bellagio / Varenna / Menaggio which takes 2-3hours. We had originally booked to stay in Varenna but cancelled due to works on the train line to get there. It still would have been a better option, or just staying in Como town to access the fast ferry. Most of the private boat tours also pick up from Como or from the "Golden Triangle" of the lake.

    Pretty little lake side town across lake from Lecco. Easy walk of 25 mins to Lecco centre with plenty of local restaurants and supermarkets/marts within walking distance. Free parking around area as well if happy to walk a bit to where you are staying if in apartment vs hotel

    Bellano is an amazing place to visit.

    Bellano is an amazing place to visit. Absolutely beautiful and so easy to get around on the ferry. Restaurants are close by aswell as supermarkets. TBH I could just sit and look out at the amazing views all day long!
