Breakfast was the same every day but offered a wide selection. I personally missed having some bacon and pancakes. Dinners are totally worth it, soft drinks are included. There’s a large paid parking area in front of the hotel, and if it’s full, the staff is very helpful. They speak fluent English. Each floor has a terrace with a panoramic view of Balaton, which is a great bonus. In front of the hotel there’s a large pool, and the hotel also has its own private beach, the whole area is very well maintained.Guest review byJoannaPoland

I found service in Balatonfüred uneven. The low point was restaurant Il Lago at the lakefront: despite looking inviting, the service felt dismissive and the prices were high for what we received. Veszprem is a small city, with some very impressive architecture, and interesting history. Also a nice place to just explore . The area along the riverside which passes the bottom entrance to the zoo then reaches a really nice park is a favoured walk for us . The centre has a good selection of restaurants catering to a variety of tastes and budgets . One thing to be aware of is that lunch is the Hungarian main meal of the day , therefore we have a couple of times tried to get a meal a bit later on the evening , depending on the time of year or day of the week that has sometimes been hard to find . Getting around , we can walk anywhere it’s a compact city . We generally get a lift from family to and from Station, after that we walk , if your fairly fit and can walk for about an hour I think you won’t need public transport but it is available if required . The town is small and quiet-ish.
The town is small and quiet-ish. There are some nice hikes worth taking, especially at sunset. (check the Guard Tower Area and the ) Not sure if it's all year round, but in September many of the restaurants and terraces were closing at 18:00 local time. You can take the long route north to get to Tihany, but the ferry is faster and not that expensive (in 2023 about 10 EUR for 1 car + 1 person).Guest review byClaudiuRomania - 6.0

I was there to see a band at Gyárkert, a venue in Veszprém. I explored the old town a bit but, at most, it should only take you 2 hours to get through the whole thing. Badacsony is a another wonderful spot on Lake Balaton. Walking around the area is very scenic. There is the port area , recently renovated, great innovative playground for kids. Also on display was a history of famous architect , with one of his structures recently renovated. The strand , the paying beach is well maintained and has lots of shady trees to sit under if hot. The hills are dotted with wineries , took many photos of the traditional housing structures. Had lots of choice for eating out from simple food to fine dining. The main town centre has lots if large trees which make it very cooling on a hot summer days ( Too many places have too much concrete ) Area well catered for those on bikes , also have hire bike shop in town.Guest review byAnonymous
