This room was a little outdated but very charming. The spa facilities are definitely high standards, 2 different sauna, a hamman, a pool with jacuzzi space, everything is made to relax. The restaurant was also great, food was qualitative and servings a good size. The staff were very nice, helpful and friendly. A beautiful city with amazing, centuries-old buildings and beautiful waterways. So many narrow streets to wander down and discover. The people are friendly and it felt very safe. I loved the mix of languages there, the walkability (and bike-ability). It also has an abundance of bookstores, as well as an outdoor market in Gutenberg Place that sells classic literature from some of the best authors. I did find some of the traditional food a bit on the heavy side, and it wasn't my usual diet. But I found a wonderful place called Tzatzi (1 Rue Sainte-Barbe), which was a modern (and delicious) take on Mediterranean/Mezze food, and it was also very affordable. We were pleasantly surprised by our stay, especially for the price. The rooms were nice, clean, and spacious enough, with the added convenience of parking and being super close to the tram. The village was lovely and picturesque, we stayed for a family wedding and visited the surrounding villages which were all lovely. The locals were Friendly and the food was delicious. The owner of the property was very helpful, we had a couple of requests such as a kettle and batteries for the remote, which she delivered promptly for us. The Wi-Fi signal was intermittent, although we did manage to use Netflix once or twice. The apartment was very cozy, close to the shops. There was some noise from above during the day but quiet at night. Wissembourg is a quaint French Alsatian town just across the German border. In fact, you can hike from Wissembourg across the border into Germany wine-country for lunch (or vice versa). Loved Petite France and Colmar.
Loved Petite France and Colmar. The cathedral in Strasbourg was spectacular. Saw the illumination show there. Worth the money. Saw many homeless people living on the street and some begging for money. That was very sad to see all around the Kleber Square streets. I would recommend a few days in Strasbourgh.
