- From US$141.76 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.1Good - What previous guests thought, 398 reviewsWe were visiting family in Munich - but didn't fancy the hustle/bustle of the city and wanted a peaceful break, with the chance to do some walking and relaxing. We also had a preference for a traditional cozy Bavarian countryside Gastsatte/hotel. Tutzing is a small, quiet and pretty town, on the lakes south of Munich and in view of the Alps, but with a great train connection (20 - 30 minutes), offering some hotel options - including the Tutzing Hof. Tutzing Hof is a small family run hotel -NOT a resort hotel with every possible luxury or minibars in the rooms. The rooms are simple and clean, have a decent bathroom/shower, and comfortable beds. The bedrooms have minimal other furnishings - a wardrobe, small table & chairs and TV - so not ideal for chilling for a whole day in - but it is a very traditional Bavarian Hotel, with a nice warm cozy dining room/bar area, which is much more comfortable to sit and read, chat in. Breakfast is a typical German buffet style, with plenty of variety. NO bacon and eggs - if that's your thing - but typical breads, cheese, boiled eggs, salami, cold meat, jams, fruit etc - and plenty of them. Dinner is available there until 9pm - and again - typical Bavarian menu - rich food, large portions - with a surprisingly good fish selection from the local lakes and several vegetarian options.... and beer. Staff are friendly and helpful. The overall ambiance is chilled out and relaxing. Things close down by 10pm, so an early night is assured.. However there's also a very pleasant (bustling) Italian restaurant 100m up the street - which tends to stay open a little longer (although last food orders are 9pm here too...). There are other restaurants in the village, which we didn't try.. The lakeside setting is beautiful, and there are longs walks along the lakeshore. Starnberg is the next town, c 5 minutes in the train.Guest review byLouisIreland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 2,955 reviewsWe arrived earlier than our check-in time and even though we couldn’t get in to our rooms straight away, we were able to use the pool and sauna hours before. The reception staff were so friendly and helpful and the coffee machine in the reception area ,where everyone could help themselves freely, was amazing. Our rooms were fantastic- One of the rooms was very modern and the other one was typical German style. Everything was really clean and comfortable and we had beautiful views of the sea. Breakfast was plentiful and there was something for everyone.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom

The staff are so friendly and so helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and has everything you need. I decided to stay for dinner instead of going out in the heavy rain at the time and I am so glad I did. Highly recommended! And make sure you stay for breakfast. Wonderful! So much choice and very well cooked and prepared. Can’t wait to return…Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom

It was wonderful and we loved the surroundings and the rooms. Very modern bathrooms and spotlessly clean. The attached restaurant was great and we enjoyed sitting outside drinking beer and wine. Perfect!Guest review byKeithNew Zealand

Mr. Esch did everything to make you feel like home. We paid for upgrading to have seaview. It was luxury and we felt like home with fire in the fireplace in the evening. Can only recommend this place for a relax time.Guest review bySvend FalkDenmark

Charming town on the lake with wonderful promenade.
Charming town on the lake with wonderful promenade. Good train service. Lots of (expensive) shops. Wirtshaus is a great experience for Bavarian food. La Bagnarota Ristorante (Italian) is very convenient, friendly with good food. Avoid the Gallo Nero restaurant. Mediocre food and poor service.Guest review byRichardUnited States - 10.0
The hotel property was great.
The hotel property was great. It was spacious and green and was on a slope leading to the lake. We went one night for dinner at a restaurant called the Drei Rosen. The meal was excellent. I highly recommend it. It is within a 15 minute walk from the Marina following the lake until you reached a kloster and then signs directed you to its location! We also went and played golf at the Tutzing golf course and got a 20% discount for telling them that we were from the Marina HotelGuest review bymarkUnited States - 8.0
We liked it a lot. The hotel is nice.
We liked it a lot. The hotel is nice. The restaurant is good. It serves typical Bavarian food but there are also other options and has playground. The room was clean. It has parking and there are a lot of walking activities possible in the area. They added a cod for out 3,5 years old daughter as requested, but I'm not sure whether they have family rooms suitable for older kids.Guest review byAmeliaEarhartNetherlands - 6.0

To be honest, the hotel was at a T-Junction with a couple of other buildings, well outside of Münsing in a village called St Heinrich, so we didn't actually see Münsing (Hence the Fair Rating). When we went out, we instead visited Starnberg which is beautiful, as is the scenic 30 minute drive around the lake. However the lake is a stones throw away from the hotel and even in January its stunning. Again due to the time of year, the bars/restaurant nearby on the lake were closed. However the Gasthaus next to our hotel served Traunstein Helles which is a big Yes from me :-)Guest review byKennyGGermany - 10.0

Seeshaupt is a beautiful area, very close to the lake whereever you go. The folks in the city is very friendly, they have some very good restaurants in the area with fair prices. Around the lake you find many places to have a drink or some food and go for a swim. We were driving around the whole Starnberger See I would say Seeshaupt was one of the nicest areas.Guest review bySonjaUnited Arab Emirates - 2.0

The dinner experience was a not very good, but how it was handled by management was unacceptable. Corona regulations amongst others not adhered to. I asked if I could speak to a responsible person from management the next morning and got a call in the room at 20:00. Was called a liar and explained that I would have to wait till 10 AM before some one from management would be in the hotel, I requested 09:30 but this was not an optionGuest review byJan_GerritNetherlands
