Staff was very friendly and helpful and I would particularly mention the staff at reception and the ones at the restaurant, including Madusanka and Kumar who served us during our stay there, as well as the restaurant manager (unfortunately I didn't get to know his name but he was very helpful with our baby). Brasov is obviously an old Germanic town.
Brasov is obviously an old Germanic town. The charming town centre is well preserved. Some of the Saxon walls remain.. Nice countryside around not to mention Count Dracula's castle nearby. The city itself is beautiful, but the people here are even more wonderful – both in spirit and appearance. The central section is a delight of course but a stroll through the back streets is also worthwhile for the atmosphere (who expects to find a great bell mounted on an insignificant corner) and architectural oddities. Kosice is not all that great on English ( or other western European languages) but leaving taxi drivers out of the equation you can usually find someone to answer questions. The eateries are good here but best are the smaller ones. Biggest gripe? Best location.
Best location. Ski and walk along the river right from your front door. Spas and pool is great with lots of small amenities. Everything is clean and stylish. Sinaia is referred to as the Pearl of the Carpathians.
Sinaia is referred to as the Pearl of the Carpathians. It's long been a destination for people in Romania, Eastern Europe and now Western Europeans and beyond. Plenty of things to do including seeing Pele's Castle, the17th century Sinaia Monastery, take the Tele Cabina up the mountain, Snow Ski in the Winter Time, read the Historical Placards in the Park (you'll learn Sinaia was the first electrified city in Romania) and pay your respects at the WWI cemetery.Guest review byMikeUnited States - 6.0
Uzh is just a border town.
Uzh is just a border town. Better than many border towns but still not a whole lot going on. The Old Town, is quite pleasant. Most importantly, it is safe there. Lovely area a little way from the busy centre of Zakopane although do expect a lot of traffic on the main road (wasn’t a problem though) as this is a year round holiday destination. Unfortunately no possibility to find restaurant with vegetarian options especially if you not really fancy to eat dumplings or pancakes every day. Zabka saved our life😁😁😁 That is the biggest disappointment of the trip. The only one restaurant which one offered vegetarian dishes changed menu after Magda Gessler kitchen revolution and now it is in horrible pig pink colour with a man waitress inside. Beautiful little village/town on the foothills.
Beautiful little village/town on the foothills. Much less crowded and touristy than Zakopane. If you don't need the buzz then Bialka is rather perfect I'd say: the trails and roads are still really close and the town has all the services and facilities you would want.
