Of a two week trip throughout Europe this hotel was by far our favorite. The views/location was breathtaking, the room (Duplex) was clean, comfortable and luxurious in size, and the staff was kind and helpful at every turn. The spa area was freely accessible (for the most part) and so very welcome after long days of hiking.

The beautiful resort with full kitchen and impeccably clean apartments are in the perfect location - quiet area of the main street, 10 minute walk to Interlaken Ost and 5-10 minute walk to the supermarkets and other restaurants. It is managed like a 5-star hotel (but is very homey), by warm, kind, friendly and very helpful people. Special mention to Andrea who communicated with me prior to our stay and waited for my family and I even when we arrived late. To Samantha who helped us with the washing machine and allowed us to check out late. To Peter who was patient and committed in helping us when we needed to find the exhaust of the stove and explaining to us our train pass options that enabled us to all the more enjoy the Jungfrau region. We also loved starting our day with our breakfast and their dining area that overlooks to a beautiful park.

The staff were extremely professional, friendly but also respecting privacy. I travelled with my german shepard, and experienced one of the doggie friendliest hotel. Bed, bowls and even a beefstick provided. I wasn’t corrected for letting my dog walk with no leash. But since my dog walks next to me at all times, i don’t see the need. Again they used common sense which shows the professionality of this establishment. The Beau Rivage is extremely clean, but I do expect that in places like this. But what really gave a signature to their cleanliness is the poolwater. It is fresh, clean and steril in smell. I would like to fantasize they use pure glacier water, at least I felt like that in comparison to like every other Hotel.

We spent two nights at Alpinhotel Bort in late May and had an amazing stay. The room was huge, spotless, and packed with great amenities. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming—even surprising our eldest son with a lovely birthday message, which made the stay extra special. Despite our late arrival, they accommodated us without any issue. The hotel is situated in a stunning location with easy access to the First Peak, offering breathtaking views, and we had a blast on the nearby Trottibikes. The on-site restaurant was excellent, though on the pricier side. A bonus for EV drivers: they have electric car chargers available.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Spinne Hotel and couldn’t have been more pleased with our experience. The highlight was definitely the breathtaking view of the Eiger, which made our mornings truly special. The hotel breakfast was also outstanding, offering a wide variety of delicious options to start the day off right. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the train station, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. Additionally, the hotel’s proximity to the ski slopes and other outdoor activities made it an ideal choice for those looking to enjoy the area’s winter offerings.

The staff was very warm, welcoming and accommodating. Met the owner a very lovely lady. The hotel was off season I believe but had a lovely dinner at request. I had to leave early to catch my train and the owner organized a lunch bag for my long train trip. I would highly recommend and definitely will stay here again. I had a room with a view of the lake and the mountains. Was so amazing to wake up to this very morning. The public bus was easy and convenient right infront of the hotel to and from Interlaken Ost. The hotel is located right in front of the train station, there's a Coop next door and a self-service laundromat at the building (reception will help with more info). The views are breath-taking and you can take the train to Kleine Scheidegg and take another from there to the Jungfraujoch (The top of Europe). Lauterbrunnen is just down the hill, the train runs every half-hour and the ride is only 13 minutes. The hotel has two restaurants (great steak) and there are many around (pizza, pasta, steak, and Santos has the best burgers 🍔😋)

Interlaken was the “cherry on top” of our European travels. The views were amazing (I’ve never seen 30+ paragliders in the sky…in the ALPs no less!!!), the area was so quaint, the locals friendly; and eating Swiss fondue somehow tastes better from the Alps! Highky recommend cappuccino and breakfast at the Aarburg (Tim & His Wife are awesome & The food not only tastes amazing but each dish is a work of art!) and the Boutique Hotel Bellevue.

We stayed for 3-1/2 days mostly hiking in the area in mid-August. Many tourists but manageable. Strongly, strongly suggest buying the Jungfrau Pass so you can access any trains, buses, and cable cars in the entire area. It makes it so easy to get around Grindelwald, Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, Murren, Wengen, First, and the Eiger. We should have booked a 5 day stay as there were some other hikes and attractions we wanted to take and see. Definitely go to Glacier Canyon and walk it to the end, but take warm clothes as the canyon is quite cool even in August due to the glacial runoff. And for sure visit the base of the Eiger. Suggest you also always get up early and get transport to your destination as late mornings (August) can be very busy and cause long lines.

Three days would have been right if the weather had cooperated. We had 3 days of rain and clouds. Did not go to the top of either mountain as it was totally fogged in on all 3 days. We did enjoy the rest of the area, doing what we could in the rain.

Quiet village (car-free) in a beautiful location.

Quiet village (car-free) in a beautiful location. Well-served by trains from Lauterbrunnen every half-hour (one of THE scenic rail journeys in the Alps) with connections to Männlichen and Kleine Scheidegg for high-level walking. Easy to reach Mürren, Stechelberg, Gimmelwald, etc., for hiking ... also not far from Interlaken, its two lakes, and good rail connections throughout the country; I did Fribourg and back on a dull day. Wengen itself has lovely local hikes e.g. down to Lauterbrunnen or up to the café at Allmend ... many gorgeous chalets in the village with well-tended gardens and window boxes ... seeing the autumn descent of the cattle from the high pastures was a real highlight of the trip ... On a more everyday note ... the Co-op is open 7 days a week and prices are very reasonable considering that this is Switzerland!

t's a spacious apartment and was ideal for me, my wife and my 2 sons. The Kitchen is well equipped, beds are comfy and the bunk beds were perfect for my 13 & 9 year olds. The views from the windows are beautiful and there is a balcony as well that's very convenient. They have slip ons of various sizes as well as they request no shoes inside the apartment, a very nice touch. its very close to the bus stop which takes only 10 minutes to Interlaken Ost and run every half an hour. The Hosts were nice and communicative so a big thumbs up to this property

Bönigen is lovely as it’s quiet and peaceful but it’s very easy to get to Interlaken centre to do day trips in the area. There is plenty to do also right in Bonigen there are lots of water activities and trails. It’s beautiful the lake is stunning. Unterseen and Interlaken have a lot to offer. We have spend majority of our time outdoors, enjoying nature. The ski resorts around Unterseen are amazing and within just 30 minutes you are on the slopes but without spending a fortune of money for a hotel, as it is usually the case when staying at a mountain resort.

Very quiet with limited food choices.

Very quiet with limited food choices. The scenery was breathtakingly beautiful. The gondolas & bus transport were not at all intimidating. Not a lot to do there, but breathe in the scenery & enjoy! We loved it as a base town for other activities.
