Ibis always has a standard of service and it is always acceptable but as this is a long way from the main cities I was not expecting the excellent level. Good beds, good showers, clean and friendly staff. The wifi was also good in the room. I travel a lot in Brazil and this place was a surprise, good breakfast and easy to find. I will come back here.

    When I arrived on the island I was initially a little disappointed because it was the off-season and there was hardly anything going on and a lot of things were closed. The accommodation initially looked as if they were under renovation or construction work and I almost regretted the trip. But then I met the dogs and the really friendly and caring owner. He offered me an upgrade and I got a room with a private bathroom. This room was very clean and so was the bathroom. It had good facilities and a comfortable bed. On the second day I was able to enjoy a rich breakfast. The owner offered to show me the island and I had a wonderful walk. I am very happy to have had the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful, untouched nature, especially since there were hardly any other tourists there. He also gave me a lot of help in finding out which bus terminal I had to go to. I can 100% recommend this accommodation and owner. Talking to him about the island is very enriching.

    The location is excellent. The hotel is located on a quieter end of the beach but within walking distance to the main central beach, if you like the buzz. The breakfast was excellent, with a great variety of items to suit all tastes. Lovely fresh fruit! Lunch and dinner menus are good and varied. The hotel benefits from two pools, which we found hard to find time to enjoy considering that the hotel is right across the road from a lovely stretch of beach. Comfortable beds, good shower and an amazing sea view. But none of the above would be worth it if it weren't for the incredible staff! Big shout out to Marcos, Ariela, Rodrigo Ruppel, Grazi, Lu and the very amazing Wagner!! Thank you guys for your professionalism and friendliness, you have made a massive difference to our stay!! :-) Apologies to all the other equally amazing staff for not including their names. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to catch all the names. Would definitely stay again.

    Quirky is a close word to describe it. The outdoor area is magical and you do feel like spending time there looking at decorative colourful things around the garden and pool. However I didn’t feel comfortable to swim in the cloudy water of the pool. The jacuzzi didn’t seem to be working. The house inside is also phenomenal and it’s nice to spend time on the top floor looking out the balcony to see locals pass by. The breakfast food was nice too with various cakes and some fruit. Coffee was tasteful which I had a few. I got nice scrambled eggs for my bread because there were no other options offered.

    IT IS A CITY THAT HAS A BEACH, COMPARED TO THE BEACHES IN THE STATE OF PARANÁ, IT IS A GREAT BEACH, IT HAS SAFETY WITH MANY POLICE OFFICERS AND MANY LIFEGUARDS ON THE BEACH. IT HAS GOOD SUPERMARKETS, A MAGNIFICENT SIDEWALK FOR WALKING AND RUNNING BY THE SEA AND SOME TOURIST ATTRACTIONS TO VISIT ON FOOT. I PARTICULARLY LIKE IT A LOT.

    We stayed only 1 night but we did not go to any parks in the area and just wanted to see the town. The train trip is definitely recommended to see the surroundings. We can back to Curitiba on the bus and the trip was just over 1 hour long. We were staying in Morretes on Friday night and there were very few restaurants that we opened for dinner service. We ended up going to Casa de Rio and had an amazing seafood and Barreado. Friendly people and nice vibe.

    Good for beach time.

    Good for beach time. Good for families, the sea usually is a bit calmer because of the Island. There are only a few restaurants so that makes it easier to choose from but also less diverse. Also good for boat trips (to nearby islands) It is easy to get around also because it is not so big.

    It is a beautiful historical town.

    It is a beautiful historical town. Simple Art Deco Buildings mixed with classical buildings. There are lovely coffee bars/ panefacedoras and a historical farmacia. Go to Dona Lucy for authentic delicious ice creams. I did not explore boat trips to islands, beaches and mangroves - it may be worth exploring this.

    Ilha do Mel is an amazing collection of great beaches and hills (morros), jungle like trails (trilhas), wild vegetation and rustical "back to the roots" small "towns" (Brasilia & Encantadas). There are no cars, no streets, no excessive lights giving the location a great sex-appeal of simple and relaxing life. People is very friendly as in almost everywhere in Brazil. Some locations are reasonably "crowded" like popular bars and beaches, but if you enjoy unspoiled nature & loneliness you quickly access bays and trails where you have the feeling of being the first human being there. Awesome. Food is great (shrimps) and drinks (caipirinha) even better. Many spots with live brazilian music. Great sunsets. Clean and warm sea water (at least in April). The whole island in an astonishing wild vegetation. Morros (hills) cut the white sand bays offering great panoramic views. History is neither missing with the beautiful Fortaleza (portuguese fort on the beach from the colonial period). A true gem of the Parana state...

    We loved the beach because it's very flat, perfect for our kids who love the water, it was very clean and relatively quiet during our stay. Well be back for sure. 90 minutes drive from Curitiba and if you don't travel the main road Br277 take the country roads you'll travel through some beautiful country side,it's a little longer but worth it.
