Hospitality – Staff throughout the hotel—from check‑in to housekeeping—exceeded every expectation. Breakfast experience – A wide and tasty buffet, prompt service, with hot dishes prepared on request made for an energizing start to each day. Ideal for short stopovers – I originally planned this as a two‑night rest to avoid a long drive after a flight. While I didn’t have time for the spa, its generally praised 1,000 m² wellness area shows just how full a longer stay could be. Impeccable cleanliness – I hold very high standards for hygiene; the room and public areas surpassed them entirely.

Great hotel! This was our second booking. Excellent room size and facilities! Child friendly! Spa area for families (with clothes) but also for adults only. Big pool and Jacuzzi. Playroom with pool table and other games Excellent food incl. the menu for the kids! The location is great. The mountains are close by as well. Very recommended hotel!

    The room was fantastic for our family of 4. The kids had bunk beds next to us, and we had a beautiful view up thre mountain. The room was very clean, and all the facilities were too. It was a really nice place. The staff were very helpful, with all our questions. We didn't have breakfast there, as we wanted a cafe on the way to Munich.The check in experience, with the complimentary gift of sparkling water. The kids play area was fantastic with lots of space to run around.

    Absolutely everything, Monica at the front desk is simply amazing, Franz (I think) is also the best and happiest host ever. We even had a Germany Fireman test alarm with all the works, smoke, water, rescue. It was an interesting event to live through and see and enjoyed a few free drinks for our trouble.     This is one of those towns you need to keep coming back to. We love GP for a weekend getaway. We always ride the train in and get around by foot (or bus) after we're there. Go in every season...there's always something wonderful to experience.

    A picturesque little village with a train station to the Zugspitze, outdoor and indoor swimming and saunas, beautiful mini-golf, lots of hiking trails, and good connections, e.g., Garmisch to Partenkirchen and the Austrian side. It is only under a 1,5 h drive from Munich.

    The DE-ticket works between Ehrwald and Garmish, despite that Ehrwald is in Austria, so one can travel freely there. The Zugspitze, Sonnenspitze and other locations are reachable by train/bus/cable car from Ehrwald. The Seebensee is fantastic lake, one can get there by a bus+cable car and using and normal road or a bus and a rather difficult via ferrata. Also there is an indoor climbing (about 15m high) gym with 4 automatic belaying stations in Ehrwald, so one can climb even during bad weather conditions.

    Ettals main, and only, attraction is the Abbey. Which is certainly impressive. You'll most likely visit Ettal for the region, as it is a great point to start your hikes and/or visit Oberammergau and Garmisch-Partenkichen. Munchen and Innsbruck are only an hour drive away.

    We usually like to visit Lermoos for a short vacation. The best thing about our one night stay this time was the Sevim Holzofen Pizzeria. Awesome food and such a warm welcome. Unfortunately this time we had a very poor experience staying at 'keyone' accommodation.

    Farchant is a great stay if you want to be out of the busyness of Garmisch-Partenkirchen but not too far away to be a moment away. Great local food and welcoming people, have been coming here for years and plan to return. The atlas hotel has a great restaurant with lots of choice and it’s easy to get to with the train station from Munich or Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

    We did not spend any time in Berwang proper except overnight in our accommodations. However, it was perfectly located for our planned day trips - visits to the peak of the Zugspitze, nearby alpine lakes, and castle visits (Ehrenberg, Hohenschwangau, and Neuschwanstein), including a walk back and forth over the Highline 179 suspension bridge and ziplining down to the parking lot. If we had had more time, would have spent it exploring Berwang itself. Can't say enough about how beautiful the area is.
