Everything about this location is exceptional! Starting with the staff who were extremely nice and helpful with a great spirit and joy, amenities and facilities, gourmet food, the Feuerbar which organized on the Easter week-end an amazing BBQ. I came to Bad Gastein alone, to snowboard for a week, so my key needs were- Location(Close to ski lift, close to public transport), price(No one to split the bill with) and my needs were met completely. This place is Right next to both train station and buss stations, RIGHT NEXT to them, but very quiet and the Stubnerkogel ski lift is right across the street. My room was cleaned every day, i was met at breakfast with a smile every morning, it was super warm, the bed was large and comfortable, modern TV with netflix, parking space right at the door(If you go by car), the room was spacious for one person and quite enough for 2. The hostess was very kind and ready to help with anything. Flexible check-in/check-out.(For late arrivals, early breakfast). Highly recommend for 1-2 people going on a ski trip.

    We came here for our anniversary and loved every minute. Our room was on the top floor (5th) and overlooked the beautiful valley. The staff were super efficient and spoke good English. The room itself was spotless, especially the bathroom. The pool was sparkling clean without smelling of chlorine. Simple breakfast that included scrambled eggs, along with fresh bread rolls, jam, cereals, yogurt, cold meats and a selection of cheeses. The waiters also topped up supplies once they were finished. The building has a lot of charm and is well maintained. We will definitely be back in the future!

    The Hotel is a bit old but has great style, and taste. The bar and restaurant atmosphere make you comfortable immediately and serve great food and wine. The small private cinema is fabulous for watching a film after dinner, old school style. However, what makes this place special are the people who run the hotel. From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed and in this respect, absolutely everything was above any expectations. Even though the hotel may lack some amenities the whole experience was far superior to many more expensive higher-rated hotels.

    Bad Gastein is an amazing mix of natural beauty and old-world charm, surrounded by stunning mountains and lush forests. In winter its a fantastic skiing area, and since its over 1000 meters elevated they usually have a long skiing season. In summer its great for hiking! There’s so much to do, from relaxing in the famous thermal spas to exploring endless hiking trails with breathtaking views.

    I've been visiting Bad Hofgastein for 12 years in the summer holiday, and with every visit it gets a bigger space in my heart. Plenty of memories, plenty of relaxation, plenty of beautiful and peaceful sceneries, and every year people are being nicer and sweeter. The town keeps developing and renovating that can be noticed in every visit.

    Bad Gastein is a totally magical place, if you like rowdy...

    Bad Gastein is a totally magical place, if you like rowdy slope side apres and a buzzy town centre, go to St Anton. Bad Gastien's signature are it's spa and the weirdly magical atmosphere the huge number of belle epoch hotels, some refurbed an open, some semi-abandoned, some totally derelict. Super convenient with the train to Munich/Salzburg, come see it before the town becomes cool again.

    We visited the thermal pool, the minimum stay is 4 hours, which is probably little bit too long, but the water was nice and warm, outdoor pool with a mountain view. Shops available. Petrol station available. Skilift right at the center. Very friendly and helpul people (a special thanks to a lady at a petrol station who helped us to find a car mechanic on saturday afternoon to fix our car to be able to drive back home)

    This is our second visit in two years, so we love this...

    This is our second visit in two years, so we love this beautiful scenic town with hiking trails you can walk to from the centre. The air is so fresh, which was why we came here to escape the oppressive hot summer air of Vienna. If you can rent an apartment with a kitchen, there is also a great (huge!) InterSpar supermarket near the train station - just factor in walking up and down the steep hills!

    It’s nice little town.

    It’s nice little town. If you like skiing and bathing in one of spa areas, then you will enjoy. Not lot of restaurants and good ones are always reserved so you need to prebook if you want to have lunch or dinner. Not a lot to do with children, specially young ones that are not skiing yet.
