Offering a terrace and views of the garden, Masaya Casas Viejas is set 30 minutes away from Minca in the Magdalena Region by 4x4 or motorcycle, and 12 mi from Santa Marta. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar with a terrace. The hostel is amazing and one of the best we have stayed at. The pool, restaurant and rooms are all amazing and perfect to relax around. We stayed in a private room which was extremely comfortable and had huge windows looking out into the mountains. The shower also looked out into the forest and had good temperature and preassure. The staff were all very smiley and extremely helpful. The food and drinks were all very good and they had some very cute pets on the property.

The use of the swimming pool after a hot day was refreshing. The staff were super friendly, helpful and accommodating. The breakfast meals were delicious. Wonderful rooftop, great clean rooms and really excellent facilities. They do Spanish lessons too for all levels and the teacher Paula is amazing. The Spanish lessons really helped me to master basic Spanish in shops, restaurants and transportation. Highly recommended!

We stayed a week at this small family run hostel 5km up the hill from Minca. The views are incredible. Many birds, including Toucans, can be viewed from the terrace. Our room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom a bit of a squeeze. Very homely. Very tranquil. Jose and his family are extremely friendly and helpful and made our visit memorable. The meals are simple and varied. If you’re fit and enthusiastic there are several good trails further into the hills. The small pool is welcome after a hot day in the rainforest. Motorbike taxis are frequent to and from Minca. Highly recommended.
