Dar Hi is an exceptional building located on an exceptional site overlooking a courbeil/valley of palm trees and the small town of Nefta. It is a stark architectural proposition that aims to redefine a hotel stay as contributing to and reflecting community life. Whether it succeeds in doing so is difficult to establish. We were the only guests in the hotel. It is however a great ambition. The staff was very welcoming and kind. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with fresh fruit, pancakes, cheese, eggs etc. The evening dinner simple, fresh and tasteful. It was the beginning of December and the temperature was a bit too cold to use the outside pool. The communal spaces have exceptional views and so have the rooms. My husband very much liked reading while lying on a lounge bed overlooking the courbeil. We both liked sitting in front of the open fire in the communal area. the bed was comfortable and the shower great. We think it is great for small group stays while exploring the region.

Taieb and Fatima looked after me so well during my stay. Taieb solved all the issues that I had with my travel regarding transport back to Tunis and day tours in the local area. Fatima went to great lengths to provide for my food preferences (vegetarian) and cooked special meals for me. They were also able to assist with getting some laundry done as well as maps and general advice about walking around the local area. My room was lovely and the bed very comfortable. I felt completely at home and like a friend as well as a guest. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, meeting Taieb and Fatima and all the other guests.

If you ever find yourself wanting to visit the utterly charming desert town of Tozeur (which you absolutely should), there is only one place you should spend your time. At the Dar Amina you will find everything you could possibly want. Clean, nicely furnished rooms, a pool in summer and a house that even the locals say is the most beautiful in the entire medina. But all that is nothing compared to the wonderful owner. She is one of the most delightful and amazing people you will ever meet. Come and visit Tozeur and the Dar Amina!

We had an amazing experience. The place is charming, clean, and beautifully decorated, offering a perfect mix of comfort and Tunisian authenticity. The host was incredibly welcoming , always available, and even helped us find a great deal for a 4x4 desert tour, which made our trip even more special. The peaceful courtyard, the fire place and delicious local breakfast were also highlights. Perfect location, great service—I highly recommend it!

The Dar was newly renovated and beautifully decorated. The furniture was high quality and comfortable and the room was spacious and light. The breakfast was lovely.

The bungalows is a special place, in a palm grove. You feel like you are entering a different world, silent and beautiful. The one room apartment is new which is great because it means everything inside is new too and very well functioning. The ambience is cozy and chic, without being pretentious. A small kitchen corner with a fridge was very appreciated by us. There is heating/cooler to adjust the temperature to your own preferences, if needed. And outside is just wonderful. There are only palms all around for the cultivation of dates. And a pool that makes the atmosphere even more magic.. and can always be used to take a bath! We were a couple with a 3 year old kid who enjoyed running around the property a lot. We were very spoiled during the whole stay by the owner. He was able to accommodate all our needs with grace and warmth and at the same time to leave us our privacy. The place is 5 min away on foot to a spot where you can rent a dromedary for a walk or the quad for a drive. It is perfect to enjoy the sunset too! Going the other way, you can walk toward the center of Tozour (which is not super close on foot but you can reach it very quickly on a carriage!). With a 10 min walk you can also reach a lovely museum on the history of the country which I would recommend. Ah and in front of the bungalows there is a lovely cafe, where you can get several different beverages. Beautiful spot too to relax !!

Nice location, near Medina. Beautiful, hidden gem. The host, Issam, was very helpful, picked up our luggages from the street and brought to the room, even when we left helped with our luggages. The atmosphere calm and serene. Swimming pool relaxing. Breakfast was simple. The place was difficult to find initially. It is an alley. The room that was given to us initially was not satisfactory, no lock, poor lightening but he gave another room, which was just excellent.
