The owner Reza is really lovely and speaks perfect English (with a British accent!). Tangkahan was a nice change from the much more touristy Bukit Lawang. We especially enjoyed our jungle tour, including tubing on the river, it was one of the most magical moments of our trip!! We also enjoyed mingling with locals and bathing at the nearby riverbank. You should definitely not miss out on this more remote part of the jungle!

The bungalows are lovely and secluded staring out into the jungle. The staff are AMAZING. I got sick during our jungle trek and had to get out through a fairly dodgy route and the staff all came together to help me get out. The hotel booked me a different hotel as the jungle guide was booked for the night I was on a trek and brought me tea and medication to help. The next day, they transferred me back to the hotel. All of the employees are absolutely lovely and make the stay well worth it!

This is the most amazing place to stay. I've been to the jungle in India, Borneo and the Phillipines but Rambai Tree Eco Jungle Huts not only provided the most comfortable accommodation but they made us feel like family ❤️🙏. Romi and Tia communicated efficiently and clearly from the moment I booked, several months ago. They provided a very reasonably priced, friendly and knowledgeable return airport shuttle - Wayhu, and the best guides - Ronie and Nanda. We saw Orangutans, Gibbons, Thomas Leaf Monkeys, and a monitor lizard in just a half day trek! As well as being visited daily by the local Macaque troop and several large bats. Tia cooked us the most fantastic farewell dinner and we were genuinely sad to leave. Nothing was too much trouble for them ❤️

What a beautiful setting! A little piece of luxury living in an exciting and peaceful jungle setting. Thank you to Agus, Sarah and their team of staff and especially Ellie the cook who gave us some of the tastiest food we have eaten on our travels around Indonesia. The trekking was amazing, well organised, fun and again the food the trekking guys made was delicious. Room was perfect, clean, peaceful with the little luxuries we needed after backpacking. Fun friendly team, we can't wait to come back. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you xx

Lovely stay , comfortable and very clean.the view from the balcony was amazing and the staff also very friendly and helpful. We did a day trekking and tubing, I had lots of fun to see the orang utan up so close, can't get better than that.even though I felt over so many times to get to it 🙈 , it's so worth it.And also thumbs 👍 for our guide bang jerry and his partner (so sorry I can't remember his name ) they both are amazing, knowledgeable and friendly, also very patient with me as I am taking so many breaks during our trip to see the orang utan. I definitely recommend staying at the hotel orangutan and Hopefully I will be back to Indonesia again soon. Keep up the good work and thank you.

The owner is friendly and helpful. He gave us a mosquitoes nest for the night which was super useful. The place is close to the river so if you like the sound of it, it is really nice!

It was a great location to visit Gunung Leuser National Park . The room was very clean , with a large bathroom and an amazing balcony which faced the national park and the river. The owner arranged pick up from the airport and the trek . Very good communications. The guide Imran was really nice and helped us a lot during the trek . He knows the jungle inside out.

Be ready to dive into adventure right from the moment you are met by host in the nearby village. A halfhour motorbike ride and a walk along riverbed and you are reaching a villa situated right in the midst of the jungle. On other day we were guided by Byke and Fahid into the depths of jungle looking for orangutans, which were kindly enough to greet us from the trees on a stretched hand distance. All in all it was an excellent idea to book that place, don’t miss the opportunity to live amidst jungle comfortably.
