The owner was super friendly and kept the onsen open late for us when we were out too late. He helped us research restaurants in the area and even gave us ice cream after a hot bath!

Very friendly staff at the reception and restaurant.

And the facilities in the room is very useful, you can cook and do laundry inside the room. the best of all, they have a cooperation hotel, which serves hot spring during the day, although you have to walk six minutes to reach there. By the way, if you really like shopping in the supermarket, there are two big supermarkets within 10 minutes walking distance.

The accommodation features free shuttle service, full-day security and luggage storage for guests. Onyado Yuinosho is a lovely inn with traditional style rooms, food and onsen. The food was exceptional. The onsen had various types of indoor and outdoor baths.

Conveniently situated in the centre of Takayama, HOTEL WOOD TAKAYAMA provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. Less than 1 km from Takayama Station and 2.9 km from Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village, the property features a bar and massage services. The property is allergy-free and is located 49 km from Gero Station. The location was fantastic. The rooms were clean, modern and minimalistic but very cozy and comfortable. The raised platform was helpful to organise luggage and warm clothes. Room was very clean. The free drinks in the lounge were a very nice touch as there’s not much to do in takayama in the evening. Restaurants close early so one has to have early dinner. So liked handing out in the lounge with drinks after a long day. Did not have the breakfast so can’t comment but the place is so well located that there are so many good options around. don’t understand why western people would order breakfast expecting western breakfast and then complain they didn’t like it

Effective October 1, 2025, a lodging tax will be introduced by ordinance of Takayama City. In addition to the room charge, 100 yen per person per day will be charged. Please pay in cash or by card upon check-in. Guests under 12 years old are exempt from the lodging tax. Very big room - could fit all of us, don't have any idea why we booked 2 rooms, we could easily book just one, and sleep two on the beds and two on the tatami.
