If you're planning a surf trip to Sri Lanka, Plantation is the perfect place to stay. Located just a stone's throw away from some of the best waves in the area, this hotel is also conveniently close to a variety of restaurants in Midigama that are worth checking out during your visit. What really made our stay special, though, was Chapu and his family. They welcomed us with open arms and went above and beyond to ensure that we felt right at home. Whether we needed advice on where to go or help with anything else, they were always there with a genuine smile and positive energy. The hotel itself is also top-notch, with all the amenities you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. And if there's anything else you need, just ask Chapu and his family – they'll make sure you're taken care of. One highlight of our stay was definitely the food. From refreshing juices and lassis to traditional Sri Lankan breakfast dishes, everything was delicious and reasonably priced. All in all, we wouldn't hesitate to stay at Plantation again if we return to Sri Lanka. Thank you, Chapu and family, for a wonderful experience!

Very good placw to stay.Really cloce by the all sites I have been planning to visit.Host is very helpful and informative.Placeis very clean and ACs working really good ad have good water pressure in all showers and toilet.They have surf board rack outside and do not need to worry about it and feel safe. They have kitchen facility in first floor and WiFI is fast.I visit here for only one day and now I'm planning to extend my stay another week. Love from Latvija ❤

We had the most amazing experience at this homestay! From the moment we arrived, making us feel completely at home. Their warmth and care were beyond what we could have hoped for. We liked the place so much we extended our stay there :) The location is great, a short walk to the beach. We had a private kitchen and a communal fridge and washing machine, also a communal terrace which was lovely to sit at as the house is surrounded by jungle. The room was big and clean and the bed was super comfy, we slept really well! We asked for softer cushions and they gave them to us straight away. It’s a new place so everything is clean and new and the owners are so willing to help with what they can, even though their English is very basic, but it’s easier to communicate with them via whatsapp. They gave us an afternoon snack one day as a surprise which was lovely!

I initially planned to stay for a week but ended up staying a month—this place felt like home. Bhanuka and his family went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable, always ensuring I had everything I needed. The WiFi was excellent, allowing me to work remotely without any issues, even during video calls, and I could easily connect my laptop to the TV via HDMI. One of the highlights was the breakfast—every morning, Bhanuka’s mom prepared a different and delicious Sri Lankan meal, making each day a unique culinary experience. If you're looking for a welcoming place with great hospitality and reliable amenities, this is it. Highly recommended!

Samee's place is beautiful, very clean and peaceful. Located on the first floor, you get a nice breeze during the day. The ceiling fan is very good so it's not hot a night and you sleep well. The bed is very comfortable and massive! The kitchen is great and the fridge is big and very clean. Internet works perfectly well. Samee the owner was always available to help us, recommended nice place to eat ect...the beach is less than 5mns walk! This place is a little gem!

Everything was tidy and comfortable. The place was right across the street from the beach and an easy walk to many surf spots. The hosts were so kind! They made us coffee each morning and we enjoyed a homemade dinner from them each night for a very good price. I would recommend anyone to stay here if you’re looking for a spot in Midigama.

Thari (the host) and his family were just fantastic. Nothing was too much of an ask for them, they were so helpful, from informing about the surf, to arranging transport and transfers, to even escorting me to the local hospital after a fin injury! They absolutely made the stay :) We will definitely be back. Thank you Thari and your wonderful family.
