We loved everything about Gasthof Maria Plain! We had no idea where it was located in relationship to Salzburg, but we had admired the church from the road as we came in. Imagine our surprise when we saw we were going up that hill towards the church. Parking was easy & convenient. The second surprise is that the hotel had its own charming Christmas market. The rooms were clean & comfortable, & every room had a breathtaking view. The fact that we arrived after a big snow storm just added to the beauty. It was a short & inexpensive cab ride to central Salzburg. The restaurant had a good menu, great food & reasonable prices. Breakfast was very nice. The staff were very friendly & helpful. We will be back next spring!

Beautiful interiors, spacious room, decorated in old style, large bed with canopy and clean linen. Very good breakfast, lots of choice, also gluten free. Coffee from the coffee machine also with soya milk. It was nice to stay in a stylish interior. Excellent location for an overnight stay going to Italy for skiing and returning.

Very nice room ideally located close to the city center but in quite area. Certainly visit the hall arranged as coffee/bar if you have the NewYork room that is located next to the private bar, it's very nice !

Location is in a quiet area which has a beautiful view out of the window. The host is very friendly and accommodating. The internet is decent, especially considering this is a pretty remote location. Kitchen, toilet and bathroom are on the same floor as the bedroom. Very well equipped location for some casual staying over. Also, a parking spot is available right in front of the house.

I arrived after 10 p.m., and the proprietor waited up for me to give me my room keys. There was an enormous, well designed parking area at the back of the hotel, so no sweat over finding a safe place to park a hired car. The surrounding area of the hotel was simply beautiful and uncluttered with buildings. A magical spot!

It was a lovely apartment, everything we needed was provided and it was spotlessly clean. There was plenty of space for the three of us and everything in the apartment worked well. Any questions we emailed the hosts before and during the trip were answered very quickly and pleasantly. While it is hard to imagine staying there without a car, parking was easy and the connections good. The park and ride at Salzburg was about a 20 minute drive away as was the lake at Mondsee. All in all, a great place!

Hotel located a few kilometers from highway, several minutes drive from Salzburg, very close to hiking trails - good location. Plenty of parking space. Very good dinners in restaurant (available only for hotel guests), good variety of dishes for breakfast. Very friendly staff.
