Madusha was such a lovely host, she made us feel at home right away. The cottage is super clean, has all you need even a mini bar and kettle, 5-star matras and pillows and soft bedlinen. The view is stunning and the surrounding is very peaceful. Ideal to unwind and relax. The homemade food is delicious and I highly recommend everyone to have your diner at home, made by Madusha. Lots of vegetables and fresh fruit. Breakfast is also amazing and every day it's different.

Everything was just perfect!! We have been there for 4 nights. Devaka and his family have been so nice and the food (breakfast & dinner) was really good. Devaka took us to a tea factory which was very interesting and also gave us a lot of helpful tips for the hikes and other stuff to do around. Room was small but had everything, also very confortable beds. The shower was also hot, what is very nice when it‘s a bit colder. The place was perfect, far away from the chaotic Ella but close enough to the train station. Thanks again to Devaka and his family. Highly recommended to stay there!!

We loved Arawe and would have loved to stay longer. It’s a beautiful place with such a unique style that’s honest to the environment. It’s fabulous to support such a sustainable and community focused business. Very kind and warm welcome from all of the staff. Always there to help. The kids loved the animals. We also participated in a morning yoga session which was just me and my 7 year old daughter. The yoga teacher adapted the session wonderfully to suit us both. The breakfast was probably the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka, so much so we asked to come back for breakfast again even though we couldn’t stay a second night.

Had the best time in Sri Lanka here! The host family are so friendly and kind, doing everything they can so that we are happy. Met the entire family, including the dog! Nice room with terrace, where we had great breakfast and perhaps the best dinner in Sri Lanka! The owner arranged scooter, tuktuk whenever we needed and gave great instructions and recommendations for hikes etc. Great memory in Sri Lanka!

The chef was very accommodating for special requests at breakfast. Also the yoga class was excellent and the studio itself was beautifully set in the jungle with all of the sounds of the birds and the waterfall making for a very special experience! :-)

This has been our best stay in Sri Lanka without doubt. Renu is an incredibly inspiring woman, mother and co-owner who will do everything in her power to make your stay intimate, comfortable and convenient. She puts an umbrella in front of your door when it rains; she looks out the window to see how far you are to prepare breakfast; she brings everything to your table and removes it quietly. Not to mention the room, with its high double roofed ceiling that makes you feel like you’re in a nest on a treetop. It’s spacious, spotless clean (no sign of dump despite daily rain in Ella) and everything works perfectly, even though it’s literally a hanging cottage. The view from the bed/balcony is breathtaking and different every day, and you even see the famous train passing at your feet. DIGITAL NOMADS: we had quite good wifi, enough for videocalls most times of the day, but bring a sim card with data just in case.

Everything was perfect and our hosts were incredibly welcoming! Very close to the little Adam’s Peak hike, and the breakfast was delicious
