There is a small onsen that accommodates at most 3 to 4 people at the same time. There is no restaurant nearby, although Furano Station is very close tot the hotel. The hotel offers dinner and breakfast, but a 7-day advance booking is needed. This is the second time I stayed at this hotel, and it provides everything we need for a one-night stay. But it is in a quiet and serene neighborhood. The host was friendly and communicative. She even hung out with us in the evening for a bit and we had some interesting conversations in broken Chinese and Japanese. Perhaps the biggest plus of this place is the lady running it. Does not speak a lot of English but is very kind. She drove me both to the cheese factory and to furano station without me even asking. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They provided many great recommendations on places to visit and eat. Hostel Tomar also has many facilities including a big shared kitchen and a rooftop bar that opens in the summer. You could also rent bicycles to explore the area at an affordable price.
