This is a must-see so we got 'front of the line' tickets ahead of time but when we got there, it was so busy that they told us there was no such thing as front of the line tickets for the Pantheon. The Pantheon is well worth the time.
The Pantheon is well worth the time. It costs five euros for the ticket. It is a truly amazing place. We were lucky, we went around 1pm in the afternoon, and it was not crowded. Everyone wants to see it once, right? Not worth terribly long lines, and the current museum-like displays ruin the feel of it, but if you must, you must. Amazing (of course). Tickets: Don't bother with the expensive pre-booked "skip-the-line" tickets with or without audio guide. Just go straight to the on-site ticket office that accept cash only. 5€ per adult, 2€ students 18-25yo. If you need to see a very large dome with a 9metre hole in it, the Pantheon is the place to be. However, half an hour and you've done the thing. Don't even consider paying more than the 5 euro (under 18s free - as of October 2024) entry per adult, and 100% don't buy the Rome Tourist Card by Tiqets with Pantheon entry. Vatican - 40 mins, Pantheon 12 mins, Trevi Fountain 15 mins, Colosseum 40 mins. Piazza Navona is less than 5 mins walk. Lots of restaurants near by etc. The apartment is very safe, quiet and secure providing all the comforts that you will need. Two bathrooms are a real plus. Just a walking distance to Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica and Colosseum and metro station for Vatican city. Trevi fountain and Pantheon are walkable if you dont mind. Restaurants nearby. Most of all our host Emanuele was simply excellent. Easy communication, he's quick to respond to questions, he accommodate our requests for early check-in and even organise taxi pick up on our departure.
