Great location right by the Monastiraki Square and subway. Ancient Agora is close by. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The off site breadfast place is by the square and has a wonderful view of the Acropolis. The room is small, but they have everything you need. I like that they provide the water boiler so I can have a cup of tea whenever I want.

Acropolis

Long before it became known as Bloomfield Falls, this magnificent waterfall was called Wujal Wujal by the indigenous Kuku Yalanji people. Hire a guide and learn why these people still consider Wujal Wujal to be sacred. Or just head down with your 4x4 and a picnic hamper, and have lunch in serious style!

Nice to see but 30 euro is really too much for seing a few stones. Not much left of this area, like most temples of ancient Greece. We were a bit dissapointed. Greeks build an immage on the old history. A lot more labour of reconstruction could be done by escavating areas and putting the pieces together to look more like the original. Visitors should at least be permitted to walk inside the area of the temple.

Go before sunset to the 6-7.30pm time slot and watch the sun go down. September is the perfect month. Wear non slip shoes. You can buy e-tickets at the bottom. If you travel on the train, take the Acropolis station. Shorter walk from there. Take water with you. Take lots of photos. This attraction is one of our world’s wonders not to be missed!! There is also a small ceremony taking the flag down before closing time.

Very expensive for something that takes 5 mins to look around. Beautiful ancient building but a bit disappointed by the lack of the usual museum things: expositions, artefacts, hey even some shelter from the sun would be great.

The apartment was well furnished, the bed was comfortable and the shower in the bathroom was great. There was a Nespresso machine in the kitchen which was very welcome. The apartment was spotlessly clean. The location was very central we walked to the Acropolis and the other central attractions. There were plenty of places to eat within about a 15 minute walk and a supermarket within 5 to 10 mins walk. The roof top terrace was an added bonus with great views of the Acropolis. This is a great place to stay in central Athens.

Great location. We only had one night in Athens but this hotel was perfect. Lots of lovely streets nearby with great restaurants, and still only a 15-minute walk to the Acropolis. So in the thick of the action, but also felt safe. Bathrooms was nice and large and the staff were lovely - our flight was later in the evening but they were very happy for us to store our bags all day, and we could come back and use the bathroom whenever we needed. The roof top terrace is also lovely with great views.

Very good apartment in great location in quiet part of town. Plenty of restaurants are around the corner, some of them are excellent! Acropolis museum is just 5 minutes away and all the city's attractions are within walking distance. I highly recommend renting this apartment instead going for hotels in the center, which is extremely noisy.

The location was perfect for the Olympic Stadium, where we went to.the Robbie Williams concert. It was also perfect for walking to the Acropolis and the beautiful Museum. The little taverna on the corner was so friendly and hospitable as we arrived in the middle of a horrendous rain storm. The apartment itself was lovely and so quiet, just what you need after hectic days exploring Athens. The owner, Dimitris, was a perfect host, and I will definitely be recommending Love Suite 2 to friends and family

2bedroom apartment was spacious and a good size for Athens. It did have a couple of broken items like the toilet seat when we arrived. Key things to be aware of it is up a flight of stairs with no lift so you have to be 'able' to get bags up winding stairs. It is above a bakery and down from the acropolis and restaurants. Totally safe to walk at night and a good location. Breakfast was across the road at the actual hotel. It was small continental and good.

Go beyond the Acropolis and explore the Agora and Kerameikos, imagining yourself entering Athens along the road from the port of Piraeus, and following the Panathenaic Way to the Akropolis. Stop at the museums along the way to understand the significance of each site. Then visit the National Archaeological Museum to see that classical Athens is just one of Greece's many magnificent cultures.

If you want to avoid crowds while seeing the famous sights, start out early and be at the sights when they open. I arrived at the Acropolis around 8:10 AM and there were only around 20 people on the whole compound. It was wonderful! There was a crowd climbing the hill when I descended, though!

  • Consider visiting Athens in May or September.

Consider visiting Athens in May or September. May is just lovely. Spring flowers like poppies and daisies cover the hills. It's not too busy and not too hot. Remember that on holidays you are always moving so consider the weather when you make your plans. Also, research opening hours as the Acropolis is closed May 1; and other Ancient Landmarks are closed on certain days and on certain hours any other day.
