El San Trópico Petit Hotel se encuentra en Puerto Vallarta, en la región de Jalisco, a 2,4 km del muelle de cruceros, y ofrece una piscina al aire libre abierta todo el año y vistas a las montañas. I stayed here for just one night last year, and loved it so much that I came back this year for 4 nights. My favourite part is how calm and peaceful it is - I was here to work on some writing, and it was really quiet and tranquil. My apartment was huge and had everything I needed - kitchen, huge TV, lovely balcony, very comfortable bed. The pool is huge which is great if you love to swim, and the gardens are just beautiful - I really enjoyed watching the birds and lizards and hummingbirds. The food is also excellent (the shrimp quesadillas are out of this world), which is lucky because there isn't really anywhere good to eat nearby that isn't an expensive tourist trap - just eat here if you can! Staff are really friendly too. It really is an escape - it's in a very quiet neighbourhood and you won't want to leave!

Ramon, our chef, is exceptionally talented. Every meal was a gourmet feast. I asked him for recommendations for what type of meals to eat, and everything he prepared was delicious and healthy! He was a tremendous host and very flexible when it came to unexpected changes in our plans. I asked for a specific Mexican dish that he had never prepared, and it came out better than what I had in mind! The concierge staff was also extremely helpful and attentive. The location is literally perfect. The beach is all white sand and not in downtown PVR, which means it was practically empty. The cleaning crew was thorough and fast.
