We had different accommodation in Hakuba, but we weren’t satisfied so we were looking for something else and found Dark Horse by chance. The moment we walked into the house, we were greeted with smiles and warmth. Andy, Rika, Momo and Hana create something truly special. We’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels and such, but this one will stay in our hearts for a long time. Everything is well thought out, you can see it’s taken care of down to the smallest detail, you can see it’s done properly and not just to be the cheapest. We felt so beautifully hosted. They also have an amazing sake collection to try, and the food is delicious too. Thank you again and we already miss it. I hope we’ll get the chance to meet again. PS. Offering barbecue facilities and quiet street view, Hakuba Amber Resort by Jade Group is located in Hakuba, 43 km from Nagano Station and 44 km from Zenkoji Temple. The property has mountain and garden views, and is 12 km from Tsugaike Kogen Ski Area. The property features a hot tub, free WiFi throughout the property and a 24-hour front desk. The pictures don't do it justice. We were at the two bedroom house and the view, the furnishing and the decorations were breathtaking! Also there's 2.5 baths instead of 2 as advertised. The location is perfect - about 10 minute walk to the restaurants. However what really made our stay so memorable was the service team. They felt like family and were super responsive to every request on WhatsApp. From restaurant and onsen suggestions to helping us book tables. They sent their own car in a snow storm to rescue us from cortina when all taxis cancelled on us. Words can't describe our appreciation and thank you for making our annual family trip so perfect.

A flat-screen TV , DVD player and Nintendo Wii, as well as a computer are featured in guestrooms. Some rooms do not have a bathroom, while shared bathrooms are available. Extras include slippers and free toiletries. Guests will also find 2 kashikiri (private use) baths at the property. In addition, dry cleaning and laundry services are provided free of charge. Very good and hosts are warm welcoming. You can take the shuttle bus in front of the hotel to ski resort. The breakfast is simple but fantastic. I will choose this again when I am back to Hakuba

Helpful and friendly host that took good care of us and recommended ski resorts/restaurants. There are two private onsen in the property to have a proper bath after a full day of snowboarding/skiing. And the breakfast was amazing as well

A 10-minute drive from Hakuba Happo-One Winter Ski Resort, Pension Tomato offers spacious Western-style rooms with a loft area. Free WiFi is available at the entire property and guests can reserve a private open-air bath overlooking the forest. A free shuttle is available from JR Hakuba Train Station, which is a 5-minute drive away and must be reserved at time of booking. Forest views are available from the 2nd floor of the accommodation. Love it. Super friendly hosts who helped us a lot, offered to pick us up, take us to hire gear at echoland (with discount at affiliated store), take us to deliver our luggage and send us to the station upon checking out. Booked restaurants for us too since we didn't have a local phone number. Thank you so much! Great accommodation, very cosy and nice atmosphere, vending machine inside, 2 onsen rooms (one of which has an outdoor onsen too, very nice in the snow) which can be used privately by booking each day. Drying room for ski gear is very convenient. Short walking distance (<5 min) to free local bus stop to goryu, happo, iwatake and also to echoland base camp for the hakuba valley shuttle. Buses only run a few each day and finish pretty early, best to not miss the last one as getting a taxi can be a pain! Breakfast needs to be booked by 10am from the previous day, but it's amazing, highly recommended.

Everything, the room was perfect and warm, koki and Naomi give us excellent service..koki also cook very good dinner and bake a very niceeee bread.. the most delicious bread I ever had in my life.. his bread is a must!!

Built in 1988, the property includes public bath and open-air bath. The ryokan has a sun terrace and a hot tub. Really nice place to stay, parking available, good location, beautiful wooden building

This guest house provides free private parking and luggage storage space. Providing free WiFi throughout the property, the non-smoking guest house features a hot tub. Three of us stayed here for 5 days. We had the best time! The accommodation was extremely clean and comfortable with great facilities, including a storage area for all of our ski and snowboard gear. There’s also a bus station right down the street that takes you to Iwatake (which you can then transfer to another bus that takes you to every resort.) The best part were the owners — they were so kind and welcoming even though we did not speak Japanese. They cooked us breakfast and dinner and both were so delicious. We highly recommend and would definitely stay again! Thank you so much for the wonderful stay😁

A recently renovated chalet situated in Hakuba, Hakuba Riverside Loghouse features a garden. This property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi. The chalet has an outdoor fireplace and a hot tub. Lovely and cosy lodge close to the action in Hakuba. All details were perfect. Loved the touch of the illustrated postcards left as a gift for each of our guests!
