Every need was addressed, they even left us a fresh apple juice in the fridge and a welcome note. Rooms were huge and the beds were really comfortable. The kids enjoyed playing with the toys 🧸 and to jump on the small trampoline outside.

The staff are warm and welcoming! The staff was very helpful and took their time explaining things the best they could in English. The hotel is cute and clean! It’s small but cozy! The room was a nice size and the bed was very comfortable! The onsen was very nice and relaxing! The views of the mountains are beautiful! And the food was delicious and beautifully presented!

The food was great.. the staff was so friendly.. And the free massage after onsen was my favorite😍.. I am surely will go back..😍

Oyado Matsubaya está muy bien situado en el barrio de Minakami Onsen-kyo, Minakami, a 34 km de Estación de esquí Gala Yuzawa, a 36 km de Estación de esquí de Naeba y a 30 km de Kawaba. The old guy at reception was the sweetest guy. Said his English wasn’t great but did an awesome job of explaining everything to us. It was a quaint, modest place that felt very welcoming. We got to set up our own futon instead of staff coming in and doing it for us. We Really enjoyed the privacy and it was a fun experience. View was amazing. We had a smoking room, it didn’t smell of smoke at all. Dinner offered was not your typical Ryokan, it had options like spaghetti bolognese. I loved it here.

I only stayed here for two days, but the owner always gave me free shuttle service to the village. He also drove for more than an hour after dark to pick me up from the mountain and take me back to the hotel for free. The hotel is very Japanese in style and the experience was very good.
