In the morning, they brought us fresh croissants, and there was aromatic coffee available at all times – what more could you need for a romantic getaway? The ancient city of Meteora isn’t too far, and we had free parking right in front of the property, so we’re more than satisfied. We’d love to visit again! Thank you!

Vetera Matera está muy bien situado en el barrio de Sassi di Matera, Matera, a 7 min a pie de Palombaro Lungo, a 300 metros de Matera Cathedral y a 8 min a pie de MUSMA Museum. We absolutely loved our stay at Vetera Matera. We had a very late arrival, around 11pm, and the staff were beyond accomodating. Our transfer shuttle met us at the packing garage and the communication was seemless. Giovanni was at reception upon check in, and was an absolute delight. Francesco was also very helpful, with wine and snacks ready when requested even at such a late arrvial time. Both were so proud of the hotel and the area, full of great tips and lots of history about the hotel and the area. Our room was amazing, we had a terrace which was so great to see the view late at night. The breakfast was lovely too, and we were sad we were only there for one night! Can not recommend this hotel enough. A great location to discover the town, with the friendliest of staff! (Fillipe who carried our bags up and down those stairs and drove us back to our car was amazing as well).

Staying at MOYΣEION felt like stepping back into the world of Magna Graecia. The welcome ritual performed by Davide made the whole experience really special and set the tone for our stay. The service was outstanding, the staff incredibly helpful, and the cave pool was just breathtaking—my friend Pete especially loved the statues surrounding it. The togas, rituals, and attention to detail made the whole visit immersive and memorable. I also recommend booking an Ape Car tour through the front desk when you arrive—it’s the perfect way to explore Matera. Plus, if you call ahead, they’ll even arrange a pickup from the bus station, which is really convenient.

La limpieza impecable y cada detalle en la habitación que la hacían muy cómoda y práctica. Nos dejaron desayuno de sobra, y muy variado.
