GermanyStaying in an old-school Japanese house was a great experience for a foreigner like myself. The house is equipped with everything you need, including a stove, pan, utensils, microwave, fridge, and a small oven. The location is also very convenient—there’s a supermarket just a five-minute walk away, and a bus stop only two minutes away. The bus takes you directly to many famous attractions, including the three well-known shrines, which is especially helpful on rainy days when you don’t want to walk far after getting off the bus.
While the cleanliness isn’t at a “hotel” level (as it’s not a hotel), the owner was very responsive to any issues I had. On the first night, I realized that the air conditioner wasn’t working, which was frustrating given that it was 30 degrees inside. However, after I contacted the owner, they came the next day to check the AC. I didn’t expect it to be fixed immediately, but to my surprise, the owner brought and installed a portable air conditioner while I was out sightseeing. I came back to a “new” AC!
Overall, I had a pleasant three-day stay.
